It's a new year, a new bike, and so that means a new Qstarz mount.

The plastic part was made at my buddy's machine shop, the metal part was a cool Qstarz mount I found on eBay.

Hey Darkness.... his bike may not be Italian like yours so I am sure all Jap bikes look the same to you, but his old bike was a Suzuki GSXR 1000. (GSXR1k as he shows).

The pictures you are looking at are of his new bike, a Honda.:twofinger

I need to update my info as I sold the CRF250 and replaced it with a 2013 KX250F (which already blew up with 38 hours on it!) and I crashed the Gixxer and replaced it with a 2012 CBR1000.

The one thing about the Qstarz is their mounting situation sucks balls. The back isn't flat for velcro (my last mount was done with rubber cut and glued onto the back to make it flat) and the stick-on mount that Qstarz sells is super cheese ball. I wouldn't trust it with a $400 device. The metal mount is really designed to be bolted down to a solid surface, but I liked the idea of mounting it in the steering stem better. I like how it turned out. Oh, and the plastic piece is hollow in the middle to save weight. Every little bit counts!

I run these on the handlebar. Seems pretty light and have worked great for me so far ( though I also run a tether just to be safe ). Available on ebay.
