New Product intro & Review: Vanson 7R11 gloves..

V4

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE
'kay suckas....time for another product intro and review....

While the name Vanson is famous for their leather jackets, little is known about their gloves so here it goes....

Vanson came out with the 7R11 glove for the sport oriented riders in mind and it shows....

As their jackets and suits, these new gloves has every excellent attention to detail, quality and finish and very comfortable as soon as you buy it and ride your bike....

Long wrist guantlets makes em easy to wear over any type of jacket whether it be leathers or textile which covers a good amount over your wrist....

The extra padding on the palms is rightfully placed so it doesn't bulk up on the controls....

The wrist closure strap does a good job securing the gloves to your wrist and wraps above your wrist which makes it comfortable for some people who may have problems with gloves that have the same strap under the wrist....

Now the carbon knuckle guard, which has been a fad on many gloves of different manufacturers could be a hit or miss thing....

Some people find them too bulky and uncomfortable cuz it hits their knuckles....

Welp, on the Vanson 7R11, the gloves are so comfortable, you won't feel the carbon guards at all....

Warmth is subjective but for me, it keeps my hands warm enough this time of year in the morning or at night and had no issues....but like most sport oriented gloves, theyre not winter gloves and not intended to be, but a glove liner would do a good job to help keep your mits warm....but I haven't found a need for the liners yet.....

now sizing....

for those with bigger hands that has a hard time finding gloves cuz theyre too slim might find the Vanson 7R11 a godsend cuz they offer a generous amount of room....

for those who don't have hands like a chimp, you might consider getting a size smaller than the other brands.....

Now the best part....the price....this should make the cheap bastids on BARF happy...

For $85, you get gloves , IMO, on par with the gloves from other manufacturers costing double the price....:wow

and these gloves have the quality and finish better than some of those gloves for half the price....

now beat that.....

:cool

I'm going to have to put the brakes on this one -

I had these gloves and wore them for a while (approx 1 year) - great at first but then I realized that the gauntlet on them was actually too long -

Meaning - they go over your jacket sleeve past the skinny part of your wrist and almost 1/4 of the way up your forearm which is great until you actually get on a bike with an armored jacket and begin riding.

As a result of the higher than normal gauntlet - if you have a jacket that has forearm/elbow armor - the gloves will be tight around the forearm armor until you ride for a minute and then the gauntlet slides down your jacket to the skinnier part below your armor and bunches up the leather between you hand and the gauntlet - putting an extremely uncomfortable wad of leather on your wrists...numb hands along with an extreme case of aggravation as this will continually happen no matter what you do!

NOW - for all of those who think I'm just bashing Vanson for the sake of bashing Vanson -

I used to live next to the factory and was visiting Boston in July of this year - I stopped in to pick up some pants and explained my issue with these gloves to which the uber-important older lady behind the counter (don't know her title but think she's Vanson family and has ALWAYS been in the factory for years) responded, "We addressed that problem and the brand new gloves that are replacing these have dual-velcro and a little shorter gauntlet so that doesn't happen anymore."

Lo and behold - I spent another $90 bucks on my 3rd set of Vanson gloves (the ones she spoke of) and she was absolutely right - I don't know the model number as I'm looking at them right now and they have no id numbers. I just checked the website and they are not posted there either -

I will take a digital pic this weekend and post on Monday but in my less than expert opinion I would say - hold off on the gloves posted in this thread as Vanson is probably trying to clear through some old inventory and wait for the gloves I just purchased as they are WAY better (leather seems a little softer and easier to break-in also). Everything is basically the same - carbon fiber knuckles, black leather, solid velcro gauntlet and perfectly placed padding in the palm.

I own 2 Vanson jackets, 3 pairs of Vanson gloves, Vanson track pants and multiple other Vanson odds and ends (big fan of Vanson so I'm not bashing :x ) -

I shall settle this dispute tomorrow - the gloves in the picture at the top of this post are an old Vanson model which I've owned for almost two years -

The new model is different - I'll post pics tomorrow -

THis is interesting, I picked up a pair of really nice gloves awhile back, and the guy said he paid like $150. The only thing they say on them is "dragonslayer" thats it. They llook VERY similar to these gloves, the CF, the stitching and padding all look the same. I'm thinking either someone else makes these gloves for Vanson, or they make them for someone else who sells them for twice as much???? I would say besides the lack, of ventilation they are excellent gloves, but fit a little tight.
