New Kawasaki ZX-25R?

Anyone see more info on Kawasaki’s new ZX-25R (with two different horsepower outputs!) four cylinder 250s?
https://www.visordown.com/news/new-bikes/new-kawasaki-zx-25r-sportsbike-be-sold-two-power-variants
And https://www.webbikeworld.com/could-kawasakis-rumored-four-cylinder-zx-25r-come-in-two-versions/

First they make obsolete the Ninja 300 with its well-received (to put it mildly) Ninja 400* and now this? Could be interesting if they bring out a US model. *There’s some thinking the 400 could be made in a 4-cyl layout as well.

59hp from a modern 250 would get my attention as a track day bike if the weight is low enough!

That would be awesome... I've ridden along side a CBR250RR MC22 and the noise was pretty fantastic... the ability to turn off running lights prompted a fair bit of confusion though.

4cyl 250s are cool.

I'm picking one up if they make the 60hp version. Slapping some track fairings, quality suspension and some sticky rubber and good to go!

Maybe they are using a supercharger like the one in the H2. It was rumored that Kawasaki was going to make a smaller supercharged engined bike in the future. This might be it. But I had heard they were working on a 650 though.

This thread is a major disappointment! I was hoping that a ZX-25R was going to be something with 2.5X the displacement of a ZX-10R :laughing

Wouldn't be a bike I'd be interested in. Why not buy a equally powerful and same weight liter bike instead of an overly complicated 650.

Back in the 90s all the manufacturers had 250cc 4 cylinder sport bikes. Kawasaki had the ZXR250R/RR. Looked almost exactly like the ZX7R, beam frame etc. I missed buying one at the Tokyo BDS Superworld Auction for $25.00
I really would have loved having that for AFM 250 SB. Raced a TZR instead.

An I-4 sportbike with great chassis and suspension will cost nearly the same to produce whether 250, 600 or 1000...

Would you buy a I-4 250cc bike for about the same price as a 600?

Most buyers would not. Thus the market for a 250 I-4 is very limited in USA. In other countries with tiered licensing... a 250 I-4 is very valuable ...

If it's very light and has at least 50 hp at the wheel, I definitely would.

I much prefer a light and nimble bike than a pig with power.

Can't wait to see what Kawi actually releases!
