"Conan the Barbarian" involves a clash of civilizations whose vocabularies are limited to screams, oaths, grunts, howls, ejaculations, exclamations, vulgarities, screeches, wails, bellows, yelps and woofs. I'd love to get my hands on the paycheck for subtitling this movie.

Hey the original was not that bad.

For one thing, the director and writer was John Milius, who wrote Apocalypse Now and several Dirty Harry movies.

While I wouldn't say the first Conan was Citizen Kane, it was at least very original. Who can forget the cannibal dinner/orgy scene? Or one of the most memorable lines ever uttered:

Wrong, that shit was epic back in the days and it's still epic now. It's one of those 80's movie I will never forget.

Arnolds insanely thick accent and bad acting made him seem even more like a barbarian. Plus he looked like the comic book character not a model in a hollister ad.

One of the reviews I read nailed the description of what was wrong with casting Momoa as Conan...he has this laid back surfer vibe to him that he simply cannot mask.
