new bike theft/insurance question

Soooo I bought a '13 DRZ400SM in april and it was stolen on saturday night. Don't bother feeling sorry for me or anything, I'm not upset. I had full coverage and while the whole thing is a big inconvenience, a lot of worse things could happen so I'm choosing to just deal with it and move on.

BUT, I do have a question that maybe someone here can answer for me. The bike was new, in perfect shape, less than 1000 miles (i think), and there is no used market for a 2013 drz400sm right now because of how new the thing is.

Has anyone here been in this situation? What kind of payout can i expect from my insurance company? I'm really hoping I don't take too big of a loss since the replacement cost of the thing is basically the MSRP.

If anyone with experience can give me a rundown of how things are going to go, that would be great. I've never had a theft claim before (didn't have full coverage last time!).

thanks in advance,
soggy

Why/How are you so calm?
You're a better person than I am. There would be some form of carnage by now.

If the thing is brand new, you should get pretty close to msrp. You won't get any fees and stuff like that back. Who is your insurance?

You should be getting a good price, plus tax, plus registration, etc. Your story is good, it was like a new bike and you should be made whole again.

Could you tell us where and how it was stolen?
Not trying to judge you or critique your parking methods but since I live near you I would like to know if it was stolen from Petaluma and how it was done.
Sorry I can't be of any help on the insurance.

I have Farmers and the contract states "full replacement" in first year. So, essentially a new bike. Call your agent.

Ok let me clear the air

1. I'm calm because I had a bike stolen once before and I was very upset, this time I have full coverage so it isn't nearly as upsetting. Also I had someone I've known for 20 years pass away last thursday, and the bike was stolen on saturday, so a material loss doesn't really seem all that important right now. It's nice to not be stressing out about this actually, so I'll take it. I have another bike too, so it's not like I'm left high and dry.

2. The bike was stolen at 6th and mission on saturday night between the hours of 6:30pm and 11:30pm or so.

It is a 2013 DRZ400sm, there is only one color this year, you can see it here: http://www.wallpaperup.com/uploads/wallpapers/2013/05/18/88143/73fced37cafc4b2d0943f18935792e67.jpg

It was stolen in San Francisco, in a neighborhood I shouldn't have parked it in in the first place. There were a ton of people and cars around, a block or two away from the metreon and all of that on mission st. It was a rough neighborhood but there was a club pretty close with security out front, etc, so I didn't think it was that bad of an idea to park it there.
