I think at the 24hrs of Suzuka in 1985 it had a red front #plate since it was , at that time, not a production bike.

It was a production bike in 1985.....the U.S. didn't get a GSX-R til 1986 but the rest of the world already had it in 1985.

The '85 had a fuel gauge, strange but true.

The last great Gixxer 1000 was the 05 model in every way and has been declining in every way since the remodel. It is a joke in almost every racing series around the world besides the ama where it is one of the last factories and is the only reason it is good at all over here anymore.

Honestly, it is the UGLIEST motorcycle produced in the last half a decade, sad sad sad!!!
