Looking to get some exposure to Linux and need to know what is a good/widely used distro of Linux to learn on? I know we have some Linux fans on here so speak up.

I would recommend CentOS since it's pretty much a mirror of RedHat and experience on it is more applicable to a Corporate systems engineering/administration role.

For home use it's wide open but I personally use Ubuntu due to the ease of install, configuration and use.

Unfortunately Linux's greatest strength can also be its weakness...so many different flavors and everyone has their favorite but I don't think you can go wrong with either CentOS or Ubuntu depending on your end goals.

CentOS or Ubuntu. Either one will do fine for learning on. Suggest using a VM software like VMWare Fusion or the like to run a VM to play with as a toe-in-the-water approach.

Looking to add to my work knowledge so if CentOS is more used in business then that seems to be the way I want to go. Going to spin up a VirtualBox and play with it. Current job is Windows-based but a lot of other businesses in our space use Linux so want to bone up on it.

I generally agree with the above, but Ubuntu is also commonly found in business usage. Mostly I use Linux Mint which is based on that. Debian is also a major influencer, has been around forever and is more like Ubuntu than Red Hat / CentOS.

Raspbian, the Raspberry Pi OS, is based on Debian.
