But seriously riding with a bunch of cruisers is fine. Good people can be found on any bike. It's when groups start having ridiculous rules, like no passing/changing positions -- even if the guy in front of you is slow because technical roads scare him -- that you realize you're in the wrong group. (And if you decide to leave early, it is generally accepted as rider etiquette and common sense to inform the group leader personally that you're leaving the group ride.)

(You already have a nice bike, anyway. I rode Gary's tonight (same as yours), and I liked it so much better than mine. I was really bitter when I had to get back on my bike. :mad I'm very jealous of your bike now.)

I like the referring to people who aren't on the board by names that they use on another board. The color-coding makes it much clearer though, thank you. Is there, like, a legend or a decoder ring for this thread?

Koi's group is made up of noobs and it is a spot in the northbay where someone, Koi, is taking the time to let the noobs feel important. He has been doing a lot for them. He has donated his money and time for all of this and I take my hat off to him for it.
Lately Koi has had issues interrupting his lead. Bike and personal issues and no one else has stepped up to fill his shoes and while other noobs can find other riders to ride with some of the noobs dont come out of their shells and dont feel so important.
Koi does his best and has his heart into it and the noobs know that.
I know Koi's group as I have ridden with them. I am not in their league and so I dont really fit or I would lead. I do think what Koi is doing for his group is great. It has lead to this OP wishing for this group to continue as do the most of the members of Koi's group.
I applaud the ones that have donated their time to help Koi to help the newbies. Not to many that are experienced here on BARF are willing to have a bunch of slow, drop their bikes, lost, and confused noobs to tag along with them.
So Will I am always here to help you and any of the others that want help I am here to. Let me know.

And thanks joanne for the kind words.... Life is life and we deal how we can... We can not control what life gives us, just our attitude towards it... I'm still game for the Parking Lot Practice and can't wait to actually get to practice instead of just organizing.....
