Napa/Vallejo/Am.Cyn group rides?

'due to our sucky weather, we've been pretty quiet here. it's a very good time for koi and others who are working on their bikes....but I'm sure as the weather gets better, everyone is out & planning for rides again. Weekly short trips and monthly long rides, hey! I like monthly long rides. I'm sure some would also like to do long rides, not just weekly short runs to Berryessa and similar or surrounding areas. Although they are good practice runs too, I admit. Sometimes I just find myself on the road riding for 6-7 hrs, when free or have the time. No destinations,no route, no plans, just ride, wherever., don't even have time to post it here. I'm also anticipating those Night Rides as soon as we get those warm nights, & they're more easier to do for me, based on my schedule.
'just a suggestion to our appointed or assumed "Leader of the Pack" I_am_the _koi, once a month long ride that everyone can plan for ahead of time and anticipate...And different destinations & routes each time. What do you all think, Yes:thumbup? No:thumbdown? Maybe:confused? Majority vote?
Any input on this? Anyone?

I'm down for it, but need to get the bike going again before I can truly put myself down for anything. I like the idea of a longer ride once in awhile.

Let's start with a good sized loop, this would be a 6 hour ride not including stops/lunch

Go up through lake county, ((which we could cut an hour off and just take 101 too)) get to willits, cut over to fort bragg for lunch and then down 1. Would want to get on the road by 8am so that with stops, we'd be getting back around 4-5pm.

Stops would be 2 on the way to fort bragg, and 2-3 along the coast home, dedicated stops, not regrouping.

Probably before we got on 101 at healdsburg, and then again in willits before we crossed 20

After that it's just at beaches on the way back or gas. hopefully by this time everyone has a good idea of what mileage they're bike gets so that we can have a good even number for everyone to watch for gas stations at.

Next step up for a ride

Go past willits up to the ave-of-the-giants, 9-10 hours of riding not including stops.

Once in willits at safeway for food/gas. once at the ave-start, once at ave end, and once around fort bragg or just past when we get gas. other then that it's dedicated ass-grinding seat time in some of the most beautiful and motorcycle friendly roads california can offer.

If you haven't figured it out, I'm doing it, with or without you all.

I am down for more suggestions but these are two I want to do, one as kind of a test ride for everyone and then the big mofo.

and also would love this one to lassen forest sometime too

like it, all of it..."Avenue of the giants" & Lassen Volcanic National Park". H-128 from Cloverdale (H-101) through Boonville to H-1 is also something to consider.

I think I'm gonna try and schedule an overnight ride end of mid-end august. I've got an in at a hotel in fortuna, and can probably get a good rate for a block of rooms if I can get some for sure number's to approach with. I'll find out rate's and such this week and go from there.
