My $35.00 roll-off goggles thread

Jackson

Show me the way
My goggles did not survive the race at Hollister on Saturday. I took them off so I could see through the stucco of mud my fellow riders were so kind to apply to my face, and as they lay draped over my handlebars I ate shit and my handlebars ground the goggles into the mud. As I slid, cracking the lenses, ripping the foam, and generally rendering the goggles the least effective pieces of shit I own, I wished I owned a pair of roll offs.

As a kid I couldn't afford bikes, but I saw lots of roll-offs in the pages of Dirt Rider magazine, and now finally I have a pair of my own!

I bought a pair of scott goggles for $25.00, and they're in the fastest color, orange.

Full disclosure, I have nothing to disclose outside of being cheap. I found the roll offs on Smith's website for $10.00

All the bits laid out, I know you all like to see all the pieces.

Assembly wasn't too bad, I only cracked the lenses (really hard to see in the picture, but on the bottom right.

The cans really stick out on the sides of the goggles, I think I'll have to get another pair for non-roll off days, which is basically almost everyday except for the past two months. Anyway, if you're thinking of getting roll offs here's a cheap setup. :ride

Wow, Fred, I had no idea that you could pick up rolloffs for $10?? That's a must have at that price.

I prefer the Scott WFS, mostly because they are one of my sponsor and I get huge discounts.

I ride with roll offs rain or shine, one quick pull and no dust or dirt.

The Scott have the dimple lenses and if water gets behind the film it wont stick to the lens.

FYI, don't forget the mud flap on top of the film, it will keep out the water.
