Mt. Diablo - Hike 6-28

Wanted to see if anyone was interested in hiking this Saturday.

I'll be starting out pretty early -7:00 AM from Mitchell Canyon to the summit. I need to be back home by 1PM at the latest so it will be a med-fast pace. I plan on being up and back in about 4.5 hours. Including short brake at the summit.
I'll be going up Mitchell Rock trail to Eagle Peak trail to Bald Ridge trail to North Peak trail to Summit trail. Then back down Juniper trail to Deer Flat Road to Mitchell Canyon Road.
Total Distance is around 15 miles ...

Any takers?

oooh Hmmm Never been you think I can keep up? I dunno Oz, I heard you run up mountains like its nothing! :wtf Not sure if i can make it ill know tomorrow for sure! :teeth

ASS KICKER ALERT!!!

Average grade about 12-14%
. There are some flat spots in between the relentless climb that threatens to grind your legs into baby powder,
The terrain is spectacular, as is the view at the summit.
It threatens to be scorching hot on saturday, so I would make sure to leave early. Shade is hard to come by up there.
I'm going to the grand opening of the new skatepark in SF to escape the heat and show the young punks how to properly body slam oneself, but Harpo the Hikin' Machine will probably join you.

You'll be fine.. There are parts of it that climb up a ways, but if no one else comes we can take our time and maybe go up and easier route. As long as I'm back down by around 1PM we will be good..Just let me know:thumbup

Looks like I have to be in the City early tomorrow morning :p so ill keep to the gym for my workouts for now. Ill try keeping up with u on a hike soon! :wave
