MR-12

Well i just found out new bike I got yesterday was supposed to be mapped for pump and MR-12 is actually only mapped for MR-12....1hr before leaving for the track.

Can the bike be rode with 100 octane? or do I need to have this bike remapped before i can ride it? or find some MR-12 on short notice....

How does one go about getting the bike remapped?

If it's mapped for a certain fuel I would stick to said fuel to be on the safe side.

If your bike is mapped for MR12 via a piggy back (Power Commander or Bazzaz etc...) I would purchase a map switch (if you already don't have one), bring the second fuel you would like to run to a reputable tuner and have em go at it. (Id recommend RCR but he no longer builds/tunes, however Raul at Factory Pro does great work as well).

I know some Kit stuff allows you to toggle between 2 different maps as well. Some more info on your bike would help. :thumbup

2017 ZX10RR full kit KRT engine and KRT race ECU.

They got back to me and said they where running MR-12 race and C-12 mix with pump for practice. That I can run 100 octane and be ok till I send ECU back for pump map.

A fiasco to say the least but I was able to pick up 20 gallons of MR-12. If she says I can run 100 than I'll probably mix the MR-12 and 100 for tomorrow and a couple more weekends this month then send ECU back so long as it can be double mapped. If not I'll need to figure out something to get two maps.

MR-12 is way to expensive.....

Unless C-12 is needed to mix pump and MR-12? At the moment I have no clue what C-12 is....

Lots of that stuff doesn’t make sense.

Running C12 with an MR12 map sounds like a bad idea
Tuning just the ECU without the whole bike seems like a bad idea
Focusing on octane instead of O2 content seems like a bad idea

I agree.

I don't know how comparable MR12, C12, C12/Pump is but something doesn't seem right. :wtf

I don't know how much I would rely on sending out my ECU for it to get properly mapped. If you're spending the big bucks for rocket juice, I HIGHLY recommend you get the bike on a proper dyno.

You have to look at your tune dude.

If the tune is just enrichment and the motor is stock, you can run pump gas without issues you just won't make the 215hp claimed on mr12.

My bike is tuned for u4.4 but it is just an enrichment tune and I usually only run pump safely no problems, it could be considered a little rich is all.

From what i understand MR12 and U4.4 enrichment tunes are virtually the same.

Again this isn't shit that can be guessed at by random internet dweebs. You need to take the time to figure out what you got and what you need.

Anybody in northern CA that is recommended for tuning?

So far this whole deal has been all kinds of questionable....Thanks for feedback

Not all tuners are created equal. I personally have had work done by RCR & Factory Pro, both great builders/tuners in my book. :thumbup

I 100% get that. Same quote I tell customers about contractors....

I Google these guys when I get some time....Thanks

Jacob, call Barry and April, and ask them what the fuck is going on. Who built the bike? Not who sold it, but who built it? The sellers have to get this to you, then you can sort it out easier. If not, there’s several AFM tuners who can figure things out.

Sage built motor, john got it tuned and rode it, barry did suspension, April sold it...

Im not gonna get into it at the moment but this hasnt not been a good experience. Im still waiting on a whole bunch of stuff.

I would rather just take over the project at this point. Hopefully they send Race ECU software....But im not holding my breath

I talked to Sage today. he said its just tuned for MR-12 and they only ran C-12 with pump for practice. He said I could run 100 octane and be rich but fine.

EDR supposedly did the tune

Im talking with Mark at factory pro about getting a couple tunes put in it. id rather pay and have it done right and know what the heck i got.

I believe mark is trying to get tune info from EDR

EDR is a great tuner, IMO. He may be able to make it happen and is a known quantity (and at AFM races). Having him at AFM races is a benefit, IME.
