Moving to the Bay this summer

Howdy all,
I'm Steve, I'm a US Coast Guard helicopter avionics tech, I currently have the misfortune of living in Puerto Rico where it's 80* year round but I'll soon be moving to the SF area.

I grew up in San Diego and have always wanted to live in SF, so this is a dream come true for me. I've spent the last 10 years in the CG working in podunk places and being back in a city is where I want to be.

I haven't been riding the past few years in PR (pointless) but my last bike in Washington state was an '06 675 that spent part of its life as a trackbike.

I'm good friends with z3n but I'm more of a lurker on the forums... I'll be around keeping an eye on the moto for sale board and occasionally chiming in :ride

So you're thinking to move to the city (SF) ? :thumbup Will ya be able to work in the CG in/near SF too?? Lotsa BARFers there !!! Keep on checking Moto for Sale to find your bike ! As to your C & M1 license, if you get free MSF in Puerto Rico >>> do it now. It's $250 in CA with the DMV written test.

Wow thanks for the solid welcome!

I will be working at Coast Guard Air Station San Francisco which is at SFO and am looking to live somewhere on the peninsula, SF/SouthSF but I have yet to actually learn which areas I want to settle in.

I still have my original paper graduation card from my original MSF course that I took way back in the dawn of time when I was 18 (2003) but the military has recently mandated rider training refresher courses must occur at least every 5 years. Fortunately I work with two guys that are MSF certified and give courses down here, so I can get an MSF refresher free, I will just have to borrow a bike :ride

I have a WA state license with M endorsement that will never expire as long as I am in the military.... Race licenses I do not have, though if I hang out with Z3n for the next 4 years it's just a matter of time :laughing
