Here's a few video screengrabs of what my last weekend consisted of. Two round trips to and from Fremont to deliver and retrieve AMVET's static display 1967 UH-1H Iroquois "Huey." Just shy of 200 miles in two days. The Warriors' Watch is pretty much always tasked with its escort whenever it goes somewhere. This time it was headed to the Tesla factory for their annual Veterans event, which included a 10k run that included a leg through the factory itself.

I always enjoy these runs as it's clearly not something anyone sees everyday. The only problem with that is when idiots try to take video/pictures of it while driving near us and almost crash into the very thing they're admiring. :rolleyes

We'll be moving her again tomorrow (not I, as I have that pesky M-F job) to one of the high schools in San Ramon for a Vietnam War event, and again on Monday for Danville's Memorial Day event at Oak Hill Park.

I see it's got the wire cutter (pointy thing on the top facing forward) and the APR-39 missile warning system (little bumps on the nose). That means it was probably active duty at least through the early 80's. It's also sporting a Cav livery (yellow shield on door). I worked as a contractor with the 2/17 Cav along with the 101st Airborne and the 160th Task Force (Night Stalkers) during the early 80's. Maybe I worked on this one.

It would be fun to do an escort ride, do you need a cruiser?

Not at all, we're all inclusive. Some of our members don't even ride. I started out driving my dad's Jeep to everything before I got a bike, and one or the guys riding with us last week was on a Diavel.

If anyone wants to join us for the escort out to the Memorial Day event in Danville, be at the Starbucks at 1170 Concord Ave. in Concord at 0545. Just know that we roll pretty slowly with the old girl. :)

I carried the 67-N-2F MOS during 'Nam with the 195th AHC, crewed the D and then the C. The picture kicked a can waaaaay far down memory lane for me.
