I can see motorcycle training courses are starting again. I spied this class at Alameda Point in Alameda.

Though it's possible one or more of those 9 riders could catch a virus, the possibility of injury or death to 9 untrained riders in traffic is probably greater.

I remember when they used to take people to the parking lot and explain "This is the clutch, this is the brake, etc." On one occasion, after the ol' "give it some gas and let the clutch out slowly", a young man dumped the clutch, bike takes off, young man freezes, and crashes into the boss's shiny pet Ford Ranchero bending the shit out of the door. Boss had the audacity to be pissed. Hell he could have killed the kid if he reached the driveway and traffic.
Back in the day, you bought a motorcycle and crashed until you figured it out, or you quit. Some of us weren't smart enough to quit. :afm199:laughing:laughing

There are better ways to learn how to ride than trial and error.

Just about all the ranges are back up and running now!

Tell your friends!

In the next month or so, many of the ranges will be offering the 1 Day Premier Course as a riding test waiver course for riders that know how to ride but do not have a license.

Now you tell me! Where were you in 1965?

Unfortunately, there were no formal training for riding back then... :)

Heck, I learned on the dirt by trial and a lot of errors as a kid and at 14 started on the street and 15 legally on the street, still all self taught.

First formal motorcycle class was when I was in the USAF at 19... somehow I managed to survive all of that!

Luckily, new riders can avoid most of those trials and painful errors and learn what works in a safe, fun class.
