Yamaha is going to have to dig deep next year and produce a reliable bike with substantially more power, retains its good handling and doesn't fry rear tires. Suzuki proved its possible. Big congratulations to them for all their hard work.

spot on

They have some stunning photo's in that link.

I want racing back tomorrow!!! :laughing

The photos are beautiful. Ionnone must be a real jerk to get an additional four year ban. I didn't think anyone could out-jerk Fenati, who's now WAY too fat for a Moto 3 or even a Moto 2 bike.

Idea: Aprilia hires both Iannone and Fenati on one Italian team. Obviously, that'll never happen now but think of the violence!:rofl:wtf

Looks like Iannone's career as a pro racer is officially over. Shame all around. I'll miss him in the paddock.

So is he banned from the FIM or just MotoGP?

Meaning could he go race in WSBK or MA??

His original ban was from the FIM, but I'm not sure if the extended suspension as a result of the appeals process is administered by the FIM.

Edit: just read up a little more on the ruling. The court of sports arbitration rejected iannone's appeal due to insufficient evidence and WADA requested an extension of the original ban to four years, with the period of suspension starting in December 2019. So he ain't racing motorcycles on any stage until 2024

Iannone has got a lot of time until 2024 to "F*ck & Train". :rofl

Realistically, can we just call his career; done?

There's so much more undercard talent that will be ready for the 2024 MotoGP grid and Iannone would have been out of racing for so long. Same goes for Dovi, for as much as I like the guy, taking a sabbatical is going to do to him what it did to Borenzo. He'll be kinda unfit to ride unless he really does go after a MXGP championship in the interim.

So if you try to kill a guy on track (Fenati) there is outrage for a minute and then you are back in. But if you want your abs a little more chiseled for the Instagram pics you are banned for essentially life. BS outcome for Iannone. If it were MM93 it would be a 30 day offseason suspension.

Congratulations on Mir

So, I got the meet Mir in his rookie year and I got to tell him that he shows a lot of promise and that someday he will do great! I'm sure he remembers me and that I was his inspiration.:laughing I also got to ask rins if the team mechanics were happy now that Iannone isn't around to crash all the bikes. He laughed.

If I recall Mir was your championship pick early on this year. :thumbup
Put any $ down?

Here's the press release: https://www.tas-cas.org/fileadmin/user_upload/CAS_Media_Release_6978_decision.pdf

Again, Iannone claimed contaminated meat for his Drostanolone test. However, Drostanolone does not metabolize in the human body through oral consumption. He'd apparently be the first, which is why CAS wanted him to present the magic evidence to support his claim.

I haven't seen/read the decision yet, but what everyone should understand is anti-doping is HUGE across worldwide sports right now, especially with the Russian Olympians making their way through CAS right now as well. There wasn't a worse time to do this if you're Iannone.

Do I care he's gone? No. There are better and more deserving riders. Everyone was tired of his show, and even Aprilia, where riders go to garbage disposal their way out of the show, knew this was coming.

Wow, motogp is going to look very different in the years to come. You kinda take for granted that some riders have been with us for a decade or two.

He’s pretty ancient in GP years. Dude’s first year 2008 on a JiR Scott RC212V...

I feel bad for him the way he’s kinda been forced out, but this is a kid’s game now. Teams want a rider in their early 20s, not the long end of 30s.

Fucking everyone looking to dump the old guys... :laughing

It is a shame for Dovi in my mind. Knowing it is motorcycle racing ya never know when he could get pulled off the bench. Not being a test rider leaves multiple doors open to him for that.

Heck even Repsol Honda. MM could be one crash away from missing the whole season again. Realistically it is the same for all the riders.

Yes, exactly, he got bad advice to appeal this (or he ignored it) as it was clear that there wasn't much of a plausible case from the beginning. As I understand it this type of steroid is very expensive and not used with livestock and it's not plausible that cows/meat in Thailand or anywhere would have it in their system.

I have never seen a situation where someone came out of an appeal with an even worse verdict than when they went in, but them's the breaks.

He's 31 and no longer a top rider, so there's zero chance he'll be back in MotoGP when he's 34. Maybe WSBK?

I wonder if Dovi will reconsider his 'sabbatical' and race Aprilia next year? I heard that JLo is also sniffing around with Aprilia, in addition to Crutchlow, so it'll be interesting to see who ends up on the seat

I remember the famous Laguna Seca race in 2008 where he was running in 4th... that year where Rossi and Stoner were in a different league... I was corner working 10B that year...
Looking at the results... Dovi was just 16 points behind Lorenzo at the end of the championship...
