Not on socials, so I haven’t seen Simon’s retraction.

I’m still of the opinion that Zarco is wrong. Really comes down to the characteristic of each bike like how Yamahas take the sweeping lines and Honda & Ducati are more pint & shoot.
Because the KTM is a little more of a sweeper Pol in my opinion is "Less wrong” and Zarco is “More wrong”.

Whatever that means
I really want it to be zarcos fault but after watching it a few times. This random guy on the internet declares it a racing incident. Zarco was going for a gap. Pol went wide, went to regroup, he knew zarco was on his ass and never had the decency that zarcob would swoop in. Pol could have been on podium for sure but he should have been more patient and that's the problem.

:rofl
Pol had a false sense of security because WinOrBin wasn’t on track. He didn’t think anyone else was gonna stuff him and regretfully forgot about the dirty Frenchman.

Pol ran wide. All the other riders kept a much tighter line. Granted, Simon is correct in saying that Zarco should have made sure his front wheel was ahead, but in the end, Pol could have stood the bike up and, temporarily lost the position. Happens all the time. I call it a racing incident. When a guy runs wide, most of us would jump on the opportunity to make the pass.

If Rossi’s engine didn’t let go and he did finish 10th at round 1, it would’ve been Yamaha 1-2-3-4 in the Riders :wow

Thinking about this point it really highlights HRC's Hubris.

Yamaha have their problems, but still managed to create a bike that has allowed all 4 of it's riders to Podium so far.

In contrast, the HRC bike for 2020 has injured it's two best riders and they ain't anywhere near the podium so far. Assuming WinOrBin comes back there's a high percentage that he is the only HRC rider in this 2020 season that will get it back onto the podium. I'm really having doubts that this short season and the challenge of riding the RCV will let Crashlow recover enough to get a podium.
Meanwhile we've got 5 emerging contenders with KTM (Pol, Binder, and Olivera) that can become real podium threats and with Suzuki, Rins is putting in strong rides with a recovering injury and Mir is looking very capable.

Reminds of the the late 2000's and early-mid '10 where it was common to see the factory and tech 3 bikes on the sharp end week in week out (Rossi/Lorenzo/Spies/Cal/Dovi/Colin)

Last time Honda was able to do that with multiple riders was early-mid 2000's, and then basically 2010/2011 when it was Casey/Pedro/Alvaro/Bradl/Marco

Ducati started getting there a few years ago (Dovi/Miller/Pet)

I think Honda needs to change their stance. It is no longer the bike, but the rider that is making their bike competitive. Remember back in the early 2000 when Rossi was dominant and Honda said (like they always did) that it was the bike and anybody could win with their bike. Well now it looks like on one can win on their bike and it is somebody that has skills like nobody has seen before.

A UK sports writer once made the slightly sexist but reasonably accurate comment that sports are soap operas for men. MotoGP this year seems a great example of this. The first three races haven't produced any close finishes or even multi-lap pass/pass-back-again battles but interest is really high. While the races may have not been exciting they have been eventful with lots of drama.

Look at all the story lines produced in just the last several weeks:

- Marc Marquez's injury and recovery.
- Has HRC finally produced a bike that even Marc Marquez can't ride?
- Did the long layoff contribute to injures for Marc Marquez, Crutchlow, Rins and Bagnaia? How long until they are back and 100% and shaking up the results?
- Rookie sensation Brad Binder!
- KTM's 2020 new platform has produced fast lap times and strong race pace for Binder, Pol Esparago and Oliveira. Is the RC now the easiest bike to ride?
- P. Espargaro jumps ship to HRC just as the KTM makes a huge leap in performance and the RCV remains difficult to ride.
- Is this Quartararo's championship to lose? Will Morbidelli start to equal his teammate's results?
- Has Nakagami or LCR figured something out or is the number of injuries to others making him look good?
- Michelin's new rear tire may or may not favor the inline 4 cylinder bikes.
- Rossi with regular podium pace?
- The condensed season with so many back-to-back races is unforgiving of bad results.
- Will Zarco's redemption last or was it a one-off on a bumpy track with poor grip?
- Can Dovi and Ducati get their mojo back at their best track over the next two weeks?
- Dovi's status at Ducati has been whipsawing back and forth every few days. Will he stay or does Ducati have attractive options that cost much less? Where could he possibly go if Ducati doesn't sign him? Aprilia? Join Petrucci at Tech3 KTM?
- Which Viñales is going to show up each weekend?
- Iannone's suspension could be overturned or extended for years.
- Will Becky find out about Tad's affair with Natasha and can she still keep the family farm while also running the biggest hospital in town? Is her father really lost at sea?

OK, that last one is a soap opera story. Doesn't seem as dramatic as most of the GP stories does it?
