Maverick and Quatararo on the factory team.
Rossi and Morbidelli on Petronas

Mad

Ahh, thanks! That should be interesting. Rossi and Morbidelli, on any given day, have as much chance as Mav and Quartoraro. Maybe more. Mav really may have been a big mistake. He's a great time trialer but he can't race, lol.

Testing tomorrow at Portimao. Mr. #99 Fancy Bomber Jacket collection is going to be riding a Yamaha again as God intended.

Yamaha should flip their roster.

- Maverick to Testing Duty

- Borenzo to Race Duty

Lord knows I've always been critical of Borenzo, but one thing stands; the guy can race.
While Borenzo and Maverick are both mental cases, Borenzo is most likely to show up on race day.

Assuming Maverick can provide the proper feedback, I'd want him Testing.

His problem is always race day.

At the end of the day he's still going to be faster than Nakasuga, so that's still a win for Yamaha. Plus the true results come on race day and that's how paychecks are made.
Borenzo hitting the podiums again is good for business because he's more likely to be on the podium vs Maverick.

Here is a list from MotoGP.com of who is attending the Portimao test. They say "Superbikes"but I'm pretty sure that means lightly modified production sportbikes.

In what is surely an oversight by MotoGP.com staffers, they failed to categorize the riders by scarf wearing and non-scarf wearing.

The test riders (and Aprilia’s Aleix Espargaro) who are on track on Wednesday and Thursday are as follows:
- Jorge Lorenzo (Yamaha)
- Dani Pedrosa (KTM)
- Stefan Bradl (HRC)
- Michele Pirro (Ducati)
- Sylvain Guintoli (Suzuki)
- Lorenzo Savadori (Aprilia)*
- Bradley Smith (Aprilia)**
- Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia)**
*Only riding Thursday
**Only riding Wednesday

The MotoGP™ riders who are riding superbikes are as follows:
- Maverick Viñales
- Valentino Rossi
- Andrea Dovizioso
- Danilo Petrucci
- Jack Miller
- Francesco Bagnaia
- Johann Zarco
- Tito Rabat
- Takaaki Nakagami
- Alex Marquez
- Pol Espargaro
- Brad Binder
- Miguel Oliveira
- Joan Mir

edit: I'm curious to see what production bikes Oliveira and Binder ride. Having a couple of 1290 Adventures mixing it up with the R1s and Panigales will be interesting. LOL.

KTM would disagree. They'll take a fast racer over a quick lapper any day of the week. Jorge was a pretty good test racer for Ducati as well.

Well, on a good day Maverick is a proven race winner with a Suzuki and a Yamaha. The thing with him is getting off the line with a full tank and whatever boogie man that lives in his head.
