Homeboy didn't let up on the 48's until the penultimate lap. Christ. :hail

That's fucking impressive. Incredible consistency. Almost inhuman. Kudos :applause

Are any other riders able to do this ? Lorenzo is renowned for 'getting into his rhythm'.

surprisingly, everyone in the top 6 has similarly consistent lap charts except for Dani

Indeed, but no one strung together in the low 48's as long as Lorenzo did. It took him until lap 18 to post a high 48 lap time. How do you sleep at night knowing you gotta go up against a guy like that?

even the mighty stoner fell to his consistency. hes just so good, every lap. you cannot make a mistake, not one. because jorge doesnt, for an entire season

IMO... all the prototype riders, except maybe Iannone, Bautista, and Smith, have the talent to run their pace for every lap of the race. the tires work that way and their setups are always geared towards making the most of the tires throughout the wear. Dani had grip problems and Nicky chattered his teeth out the last 2 laps, which is why their paces didnt hold as well as the rest. but assuming a worry-free race, these gods-on-motos would do it every round.

of course, i said "their pace", not "Jorge's pace". i dont think anyone sleeps Sat night knowing one of their competitors is that metronomic at that speed. gone are the days for pulling out hot laps to catch someone; if u can do that, uve gone too slow from the start. now we have QP for hot laps and the race for consistent pace from turn 2.

Can I be....frank?
After watching the onboard vid, I still can't understand why Marquez crashed. He must be kicking his own ass after that one, no way to catch first place, and third place is way way way back. To lose a guaranteed MotoGP 2nd place in such a mysterious fashion must be eating him up inside.
