Pretty pumped about this and Supercross on Sunday. Going to be a great weekend!

SBK - I think the Yamaha boys have found something over the off-season with Stanboli and crew. The good thing about RA is it'll be pretty apparent on the front straight how things look. The M4 guys will be dialed of course. Dark horse is Wyman for me.
SSP - I think SDK will have this one, but I'm interested to see how Escalante does.
STK1000 - This one's wide open as there's a ton of talent, but I'm pulling for Petersen. I'm sure PJ will up there too.
Junior Cup and Twins - I think Rocco is on a whole 'nother level. He has limited time on the SV, but I don't think it will matter one bit.

ill be watching the SuperbikeCup riders closely. as a reminder, thats STK1000 racers that will be also competing in SBK races on their STK1000 machines. based on the entry lists, there are 9 of them. notables are T Wyman, Petersen, and PJ.

Is the Superbike Cup a separate championship class that runs as a race within a race? I'm glad MA is adding STK1000 riders to fill the SB grid.

Theres an end of year purse for the top 3 SuperbikeCup riders - $25k, $10k, and $5k. I think its based on SBK points, but I haven't been able to confirm yet. SBKC riders do get the SBK purse, so their SBK finish is what matters most to them. And the top 5 SBKC riders in each SBK race get a free set of tires.

SBK: Hoping the Fonger can outride the Yamaha boys. Fun to see a stacked field of 22 riders on the entry list.

STK1000- PJ on that Ducati was scary fast at Chuckwalla a weekend I was there but everyone's overlooking Gilbert and Mesa, those dudes are wicked fast. Corey Alexander as well.

Twins: Landers.


Super Sport: SDK, Brandon Paasch and Escalante. Lucas Silva on that M4 bike can ride hard as well.
Junior Cup: Landers and look out for Aden Thao. He's quick!

Ah, I remember the old days when the Hot Topic of the day was the frontrunners complaining about the back markers clogging the race track.

Thanks for the answers. I had an email exchange with a rep who was a bit rude and insisted they had made huge improvements in live streaming capability and production quality from last season.

I didn't find it terrible last year but I have extremely low expectations considering it's MA and all. There do seem to be more cameras and better tracking of riders (edit: for example there are at least 3 or 4 cameras covering the straight at RA). 1080p doesn't look like 1080p for some reason.


It sucks because the MotoGP broadcasts have me (maybe all of us) so spoiled.

production seems the same so far. graphics and audio are still not 100%.

streaming seems the same, maybe a little better. bitrate might be higher. no hiccups like normal. I won't be surprised if they made changes that will only be visible if/when tons of people start watching.

the website is loading far better this year. faster, more responsive, less annoying crap.

Takeaways from today:

The Ducati is fast.
Rocco is still fast on bigger machine.
Commentators need help.
Commentary feed needs to follow guys throwing down fast laps in qualifying, rather than following some obscurity with an accompanying talk topic.
