I'm sure its obvious by now but MotoAmerica posted on Twitter that they won't be racing at COTA (either). They are checking to see if the proposed November GP date will work for MA.

Looks like just no spectators in the stands.
If you have a camping pass, you get to watch from your camp site...if you can see the track from there.

I feel terrible for the teams in Daytona. Its such a huge and expensive undertaking to prepare and travel to Daytona.

it really would have been better to cancel Wednesday before all the riders, teams, crew, staff, and media showed up. they all stay in the same hotels, eat at the same restaurants, and mingle a lot - greatly increasing their risk. now they all get to drive or take flights home, increasing everyone else's risk too.

There is a video posted on the WERA BBS streamed from the riders' meeting. I think it was from Jason Farrell's video. Daytona Track management made the decision saying to postpone it was because of the national emergency declared this morning.

An official from ASRA (?) conducting the riders' meeting suggested everyone "go enjoy Bike Week." Twice. :laughing National emergency due to highly contagious virus cancels every public gathering in the U.S.; now go mingle with sweaty people from all over the country.

CCS runs the Daytona races, series name owned by AFT under the old DMG purchase of AMA pro racing, etc.

Looks like they had scoring issues too earlier in the day. Stay tuned...pretty sure we're gonna cancel as well for next weekend.

If those guys can't get something running by May, they're gonna end up on trouble w/ dates and meeting minimum numbers of televised races, etc...which matters for team sponsor obligations.

Only a day or two ago wondered if this pandemic would kill MA, and certainly what Berto mentions above makes me fear that a bit more.

Man I really hope not. I don't see them being profitable for a long time? Hopefully the money man still funds MA, because he likes it, like so many rich people do in all types of racing all over the world.

Not sure how much it matters, the connection(s) of Richard Varner and the oil industry. I hope not much, but the oil industry is hurting (as we all know). Fingers crossed...again here. MA has a good product.
