Moto Skiveez Compression Socks?

Recently had a recommendation to try out Moto Skiveez compression socks.

Said to be great riding long days and especially if standing a lot, like on a dual sport or dirt ride.

Seems mostly the BMW guys go for these socks, but sounds like they would be good for anyone on any sort of bike on any longer ride.
Do they help?

I have some really nice SIDI socks and other Italian ones, but don't think they are specifically compression .. dunno? The Moto Skiveez are not expensive ... $25. If they are quality and last ... then all good, but do they really help ?

Some claim compression socks really reduces fatigue after long day riding. The Moto Skiveez have somehow woven Aloe into the fabric which keeps them "fresh" smelling longer.

Always a plus. On my longer tours I would only pack 2 pair riding socks, one pair light street socks. So what ever ones I take, need to be good.

Anyone ever use these?

If you actually read CityBike instead of retelling the "I once rode a KLR for CityBike" story over and over, you'd have read our review of these "mostly BMW guy" socks. Whatever the hell that means. :laughing

February 2017 issue. Short version, yes, they help on long days.

Never used them, but I wear my "Comfort Products" below the knee 15-20mmhg compression socks for track days, long rides, road trips and flights.
$25 is pretty cheap for compression socks, and if they're moto specific and designed for moto riding that seems like something to look into...

I have a few pairs of these, and rarely wear them. I usually bring a pair on trips and use if I'm sore from the day before (I'm not sure that's the correct way to use them though)

These suckers are tight! I mean, they are compression socks so they are supposed to be tight, but for me it boarders on being uncomfortable.

They aren't very thick either and I like a thicker sock in my MX boots and my ADV boots.

I have them and love them. Just wrote about them in the sock thread in general in fact, and ordered two more pairs this morning for upcoming baja trip.

Cabrito is correct that they are tight fitting and relatively thin. When you take them off after riding all day your leg looks funny for a few mins because they are so tight, but I was impressed by them and have used them in Baja for days at a time. They are easily rinsed off in a sink and will be dry by morning. Thats one reason I like thin socks.

Hey, thanks for the helpful comments.

"sock thread" ? Can you provide a link to that?

First I heard about the possible "too tight" thing. The BMW rider's club president who did the video promo for Moto Shiveez said they were not very tight. He gave a very strong endorsement.

I love the quick dry aspect. That a biggie for me when packing super light. :thumbup

Cycle Gear sells them, so may pick up a pair there to try out ... unless someone knows another "brand" of moto specific sock that is a compression type sock?

I'm hoping they will help me with leg cramps that I get from standing up too long. I used to get them so bad during my Enduro competition days that I'd nearly DNF because of it.

With more water and Bananas and other supplements I was able to avoid them. In a tough Enduro you may be standing up 4 to 5 hours pretty much non stop and working hard most of the time.

Thanks for noticing my product. My name is Shawn and I'm the guy that brought these to market. What most motorcyclists do not know is that there is a clinical study that suggests there is a direct link with developing lower leg veind disease as a result of riding motorcycles, llink Here is a quote from the study; "Compression socks/hosiery to aid the blood returning to the heart is a key part of dealing with the problem", said Mr Rodger. "Wearing a leg support underneath the leathers can avoid long-term circulation problems such as DVT (deep vein thrombosis)".

Wool socks are far better for long days in the saddle than compression socks.

I wore compression socks in the service for years, wish I would have spent those years wearing wool socks instead. They don't get as hot, dry, don't stink and are far more comfortable, and they don't cost 25 per pair...

Just my 2 cents
