Moto Racing no longer on US TV?

DOMS

Slower each day =(
WTFreak??

just read an article on superbikeplanet, stating that SpeedTV will most likely NOT televise WSBK. AMA superbike has already been decided and only 2 races will be televised. How in the heck am i gonna get my moto racing fix? I'm just baffled at the decision to let go of WSBK, specially since (in my perspective), its a much more entertaining series compared to MotoGP.

It should have been obvious they did not like WSBK races since they started interrupting the race halfway through to switch over and broadcast NASCAR!

uugh!

How are you planning on watching WSBK and AMA racing?

It's about time. Motorcycle racing is dangerous. It leads to obesity, gun hording, mass killings, bigotry and conservatism. It's also is a burden on the national debt. And it leads to smoking and alcohol abuse, increasing the cost of health care as well.

I suspect broadcasters just decided to practice self regulation before the feds stepped in. You may not agree with it, or realize it yet, but you'll be better off and happier in the long run. :thumbup

I think both Supercross and outdoor Motocross count as Moto Racing, don't they?

They still broadcast those.

Yes, I'm annoyed that they won't be broadcasting my two favorite road racing series, but there are alternatives available other than watching on television. I'll just use a method that lets me watch the races on my computer instead.

moar fine tuning, per "RoadRacingWorld" site:

UPDATE:

It’s been confirmed that the World Superbike races at Phillip Island will be televised live Saturday, February 23 on beIN Sport TV [Comcast 429] beginning at 4:30 p.m. Pacific Time (not the 5:00 p.m. listed on the programming guide at www.beinsport.tv) .

For those who do not have access to beIN Sport TV, the races will also be shown via live streaming video on www.beinsport.tv. And contrary to what is stated in the FAQ (frequent asked questions) section on www.beinsport.com, network spokesmen have twice confirmed that no special login will be required to watch this coming weekend’s races via live streaming video

TWC carries it as part of the sport package, but I'm not gonna pay $8.99 a month more just for one program on one channel. It's not worth it.

Preview SBK on now. BEin TV.

yeah, it was a 30-minute mix o'good & not so good

5 minutes of a generic Brit newsreader addressing the racers of the grid, arranged by brand & team - rider names, with no race #s or charts shown

10 minutes of brief race-by-race summaries of 2012 season, announced by.......

Jonathan Green & Steve Martin

10 more minutes of 2012 review, with Green yelling & Martin moderating

finis

short assessment:

very similar to many years of Chet Burks-produced SpeedTV SBK coverage

Not sure on the "tech" but if your tv has correct inputs couldn't you just hook up a pc to it ? Of coarse you gotta subscribe to the feed but it seems way better then what speed ever offered. Also my new tv has internet already on it so I think I could just pay the subscription & watch it. Speed coverage of WSBK & MotoGp has always sucked IMO anyways.

KHAAAAAN!
On Direct TV it is only available on the top of the range $174 a month package!!!! BEin TV that is :thumbdown

Give it time. I remember when FSC was ONLY on the Top Tier of DishNetwork, DirecTV and Comcast. Or you had to pay for it.

Now it's in the mid-level stuff.
