Moto masks

OMG one simple request for some cool masks to wear and the people who believe" the sky is falling monkeys" come out.

Its always the same shit. Where's your proof? Where did you get that information from?

I'm going to pull a Hillary on you all.
It doesn't matter or make a difference.
Despite anything you are shown or whatever source you are given your simple minds wont care. So why waste the effort.

All that will be posted is the following.
That's a conspiracy theory
Ohhh look at your source.
That's been debunked.
I checked snopes and they say its not true.

ST Guy is right and although there are many of you who disagree, and that's ok you can if you want to . There have been many studies proving masks don't keep you from getting the China Virus.

A half truth came in and that was the one of "it keeps fluids from leaving the wearers face"
Just like a surgeon in an operating room. The surgeon and team don't want to infect a patient in a sterile environment.
Will it keep you safe from the virus, nope not even if you double up, or triple up.
Its microscopic and can travel through a simple mask. COMMON SENSE people try using some.
So are we getting total coverage and protection... Whammy says only half!:twofinger maybe less. I'm no doctor, scientist or epidemiologist I don't play one on tv nor did i sleep at holiday inn express. :twofinger

Now back to the basic reason why we came here.
Whammy has posted this before.. I use a Respro while ridding in the bad pollen times. YMMV but they sure look cool and that's what we are really after here right?
https://respro.com/
I find they work well with my helmets (i ride with an Arai Corsair V and X)

That's Whammy's .02 and the rest of you who want to believe in the boogie man can go back to believing in him.

Nope. I could reference numerous studies done by highly respected medical institutions that would back up my claims. But you likely wouldn't believe them. The fact is, the virus is so small and the masks are so porous and ill fitting that wearing one is completely useless.

Just as one example, no one wore masks a Stugis last year. There was only one, maybe two cases of Covid caught.

And on top of that, the survival rate is 99.8% with the vast majority of deaths in the very elderly with complicating factors.

Again, who asked you for any of this? This isn't the point of the thread.

Post 'em up, I, for one would like to see this, so I can make my own assessment, just like you did. But if you don't feel like engaging, PM me the links.

Or don't.

ST Guy is a dangerous idiot. And the sources he cited are disingenuous. Most of them are incredibly small studies (less than 100 people), but beyond that literally the second source cited by "rcreader.com" actually says:

> Compared with the control group, significant reductions in ILI were observed during weeks 4–6 in the mask and hand hygiene group ranging from 35% (95% CI 9–53) to 51% (95% CI 13–73),

So the article reported a 35%-51% reduction in infection in the mask wearing group, e.g. masks work.

rcreader.com knows their readership is too gullible/ignorant to actually understand a scientific source.

Maybe Breitbart.com has some better non-"fake research" sources he can cite to back up his ludicrous point.

Merely Rhetorical
So, you believe all the BS about masks?

Here are two articles. Within them are numerous references to medical studies that have been done. Read them and be educated:

https://www.rcreader.com/commentary...f-science-relevant-to-covide-19-social-policy

https://www.technocracy.news/censor...9-social-policy-and-why-face-masks-dont-work/

Masks simply don't work. Period. But if you want to give up your civil liberties and run around looking like a dork, by all means, do it. It's your privilege.

I think there are two extremes to the topic, and I do think the effectiveness is generally overstated. But thanks for the articles and the Déjà vu.

I don't see anything political (yet) but I see replies not at all related to motorcycle content. BARF has a specific forum just for discussing COVID-19 topics. Members are welcome to discuss the pandemic in that forum.

would you mind movin them over there. I need inspiration for my next mask.

Enough.

We have a place for discussing the effectiveness of masks, and it's not this forum. No more in this thread.

Thanks.

And here I was hoping for info on masks that can be worn with a helmet on that doesn't take a half hour to resituate after putting the helmet on.

oh well mask debaters gotta mask debate.

two wheel tramp

exploring!
:laughing

I got a nice one passed to me by two wheel tramp from American Supercamp.
Two layers of what appears to be solid material vs cheap cotton, tight fitting.. basically good quality. I looked for a manufacturer on it. None shown.

:kiss

Cuz you're my favorite boo!

We got some really nicely branded ones for our company on Zazzle.com. They were also THE most comfortable masks I have worn and they can accommodate filters. :)

Cycle gear apparently has a few options. EVS has one, Fox has a few, and a couple for kids at that.

https://store.motogp.com/en/face-coverings-masks
The aforementioned motogp face swag.

It seems like most aren't jumping on the chance to do a branded mask, which is kinda goofy to me, I would've figured it'd be an easy way to make a couple bucks. Obviously they love branded shirts. And searching requires digging though all the redbubble type junk.

Honestly vistaprint makes the absolute best masks imo. They do have a custom option where you could have whatever you wanted printed up. Make of bike, favorite sponsor, picture of your bike, whatever. I think its cost prohibitive and it wouldn't be wise to try to sell anything branded by a massive corporation that you don't own.

But if say, I dunno, barf wanted to have some made up, it'd work out fine.
