MOTO Coffee Outside 12/28/19 - East Bay Hills

Hello fellow two-wheeled humans, lets go have some coffee outside!

Meet 10:30 / KSU 11:00
Riders meeting @ 10:55

I've been meaning to do this ride since September however due to an unexpected thumb injury my riding has been sidelined until earlier this month. However, seeing as we're coming to the end of another Gregorian decade, I figure there's little enough time left to waste. So let's go ride!

The idea is to meet up, ride out to a remote area away from the city/starbucks, brew some coffee (or tea, we won't discriminate) and hang out with your fellow motorcyclists. Point at each other's bikes, ask each other questions, make new friends/make fun of your old friends for missing out. Really the coffee is just a reason to get people out riding Bay Area backroads together. So break out that portable camp stove and lets go find a scenic perch overlooking our slice of civilization.

For this session we'll be meeting at the infamous 76 station on Redwood Rd and Castro Valley Blvd just off the 580 in, you guessed it, Castro Valley!
Ride highlights will include a trip up Redwood Rd->Skyline->Grizzly to our first coffee stop at The Wall (bring some Floyd).
As long as no one falls down the hill we'll continue further East via Wildcat Canyon->Bear Creek->Alhambra->Franklin->McEwen and our next stop in Port Costa. [Possible Lunchstop, still need to call/confirm if they'll have the grill going].
Afterwards you can either hop on the freeway and slab it home or join us for the backroads route via San Pablo->Pinole Valley-> San Pablo DAM Rd->Moraga->Canyon->Pinehurst. I'll be heading back to SF so Redwood/Pinehurst is going to be a quick goodbye stop where whomever is left can make their way back to the start or the 580 freeway.

I may join on this one. I won't have any coffee on me but I'll see if I can bring some munchies for everyone. And if some kind soul wants to gift me a cup o joe, I won't complain.

Hiya. I've been looking for an excuse to take out a little FZR I haven't ridden enough. While I *can* keep up on my other bikes, I will probably be lagging a bit behind (still getting to know her). Don't worry, I can ride. But...will you guys wait for me at the stop signs?

I can probably throw together some cookies if so...

Gotta bow out. Company gave me Monday and Tuesday off so I'm heading up to the house. Have fun and ride safe.

Parts have been shipped to the wrong address, but if I can sort that out and get the bike back together in time I think I'll join in.

Turns out I have a thing I need to do until 11. This was good idea though. Catch you next time (or later tomorrow in the hills!)

That looks like a nice route that I have never ridden. I will have to make that trek soon.

Have fun y’all.

I'll be there early at the Peet's Coffee across Redwood Road if anyone wants to join me. Look for the enormous beardy guy and black/red Street Triple. Should be there for breakfast around 9:45 or so.

So, uh. I just got my video off the GoPro and had the most interesting thing happen. I thought it was off- that the battery was dead- but it was on for the first leg of the ride and then the entire time we were parked... and it captured 30 minutes of a really nice view entirely by accident. I'm uploading the video now but here's a taste...
