Part rant and part "please help me" post:

The Concord main DMV is closed permanently. They had 20+ stalls to help people there and was my go to DMV. The next nearest is Walnut Creek and the 3 times I've walked in the line just to get a ticket to wait some more was out the door. Also, despite making an appointment, I still had to wait an hour for the appt. The DMV is a joke and should be overhauled. :thumbdown:thumbdown:thumbdown End rant.

This isn't something I can handle by mail. Does anybody know a smaller town DMV with low wait times?

Do you remember the pre-ticket days? They keep expanding how much you can do online, what are you trying to do? I've transferred ownership through the little drop box too. There's quite a bit you can do without an appointment these days.

I was at the hayward dmv waiting patiently. An asian woman walked in and the woman at the counter was also asain. She said,"Take this ticket, you'll get helped faster." Talk about your WTF moments!

You're doing it wrong. Show up 30 minutes before closing. Trust me......

I was in and out of Davis DMV in less than 10 minutes without an appointment. Got kind of lucky that day. Service is always great at the Davis office.

I had to renew my DL last month.

Made an appointment.

That particular day, it was raining something fierce.
Pulled into the parking lot, there were NO spots open.
Found a spot across the street.

My appointment was for 3:10.
Got there at 3:05.
Went to the appointment window, got my number.
Number was called in less than a minute.
Gave them paperwork, took eye test, got new picture taken.

Checked clock in car when I got back to it.

Laughed all the way home.
