I have a CRF450 and I would like to motard it. It's stock now. What should I modify to race it? Just put on excel rims and some rennsports? Where is the cheapest place to buy excel rims?

Its Dethklok!
Check the dirtbike mags, always good deals on wheels there. A lotta guys(pro's) are building 'em. Nicky, Chandler, etc. Try a net search to find hot set ups. I'm keeping my CRF for hill climbing. Got the Duke for all arround trickery!

Is the CRF450 a red sticker bike? If green stickered, might make a trick street ride.
If it is an '02 or earlier it is a green sticker bike ;)

Maybe we can talk Rich into building a CRF450 motard. He's already done a sweet job on his XR650R.

The crf450 cannot me made street legal in CA due to the 8th digit of the vin # having a c or 3 in it which makes it a competition bike (ie like an mx 2 stroke). There are ways to get one registered in CA after its been reg in another state.I think a good street alternative is a 99 and older wr400,I wish I had done one of those instead of my XR .If anyone cares.

Alex is selling the 1998 Street Legal YZ400F that he bought from me a few months ago. It would make a great Motard! <hint> ;)

Mine is a red sticker 2003. I wish I could ride it on the street like this:

Nice! It looks really good!!!
Just wondering, why did you put headlight and turn signals if you can't ride it on the street?

I stole that picture. That's what I want it to look like. Now it looks like a dirtbike. I heard if you have a green sticker it can be registered for the street. Is this true?

Not sure. This is what I know, correct me if I am wrong:
1. If it is a '02 or older, it is a green sticker bike
2. If it is a red sticker bike, it cannot be registered for street in CA
3. If it is registered for street, it is automatically green sticker
4. My YZ400F was green sticker and CA street legal although it does not pass CARB (previous owner did the registration)
