Had a blast yesterday afternoon south of 17, but ended up a long way from Alices. Definitely was not back in time for din-dins.

So guys- other than hammering the crap out of pescadero, stage and tunitas, where else do you wanna go?

Want me to plot a course for lunch at Davenport or Boulder Creek or summat like that? Plenty of good roads around.

I like riding from Alices as it's easy for everyone to find and is central for people coming south as well as north, so I suggets we keep that as the meeting point.

Input please..... what do you think?

Mt. Diablo. North Gate Road.

I've heard that's a good road and also about Morgan Territory Rd.

Maybe we can put together an east bay route some time too.

I'm lovin the north Sant Cruz mountain action with Tunitas and all that. It was onlu my second time on that road -and my first going up it- so it's still pretty new to me. Sunday the 7th the summit goat-trails you lead us through were especially fun, including the "Beau's ditch" road.

I agree that Alice's is a good meeting point but we should be aware that the police presence is only going to increase in that area.

But honestly... I'll ride pertty much anywhere with ya'll.

How about Eureka Canyon rd. out of Corrallitos? I am not 'tarded like you two but I got a CB-1 that smokes on the goat trails. Think you can keep up Bo? :confused :laughing ;)

Got that street legal XR 250 but the tires SUCK!

I don't know the south too much. Krystal was gonna take me out and show me some back roads but we never got the chance :( But hey! I'm available... well... NOW! What are you doin' today? I gotta start working again next week so my time is short. I can fire up the XR250 anytime.

Greg and I rode that Sunday afternoon and had an absolute blast!

We rode highland and then down eureka canyon, gassed up on freedom and then rode back up rider and the buzzard lagoon dirt road to eureka and highland. Would have done Loma Prieta too but we were plain out of time.

Totally Awesome!!

And yeah- Goose, those little CB-1s haul in the really tight stuff!!

how far are these rides? my bike only has like 2 gallons and I haven't baselined mpg yet but guessing 40mpg? not much range. heck I can't even get my foot into boots with the brace on yet neither :p I'm going by Lombardi's Sports later to look for fuel bottles or something. I think I got the wrong bike for this kinda' stuff but try to have fun anyways. oh yeah, have to back before dark too since this thing can't even power it's own headlight. (wtf!)

We plan routes around the gas stations, typically not more than 40-50 miles between. Only Beau and Tom ride 'gas tankers', the rest of us have about the same range as you.

And if we really get stuck, we can always pop off fuel hoses and each donate a cupful to get everyone to the next gas station. Done that a few times before!! :laughing

On Sunday we ended up coasting down into Scotts Valley to get gas for one rider who hit reserve. He sucked it dry and coasted in literally 200 yards from the gas station!!

The mantra is 'if in doubt, fill it up'!!

Yeah, we try not to stray too far from the gas, but if i'm there I'll gladly let you siphon off a couple of liters in need be.. i have plenty.

I'd like to know if i could do the whole loma prieta run to 152 on one tank leaving from los gatos...

I only get about 60 miles on a tank on that XR. I'm thinking I need the bigger tank.

Greg, normally I'd expect 80, but seeing as you're kinda big boned and ride hard, I can see how you'd get 60:laughing

Looks like we'll need Beau to 'tanker' for us!!
He has 200 miles of gas in that big tank:wow

But I think it should be doable.

Creech I didn't know you were on this forum. Your not talking about that old XR200 are you? :confused

I'll be the tanker, but someone else has to bring the hose.:)

Lon, it's time to build yourself a motard. While Phil is in Sumatra we should motard his WR400. :laughing I'ts not like he can stop us! :laughing :laughing

Hell, we can prolly get the good folks of SPEEDSHOP SANTA CRUZ (shameless plug of my local shop 831-462-MOTO) to help us out.:teeth

I tried to buy it from him already! He said I could take over payments and I agreed but he never worked out the legal aspects before he moved. I got free use of it on dirt but street riding is verboten! It's already got the lights and a l/plate mount but no legal reg. I loaned him the plate off my Hawk one year for a rally ride and the bastid kept all the hardware. I'm going on a ride soon to scout some roads for the upcoming Furies rally. Wot are you up to today and why don't I have your dam phone number yet? Sniff:cry , you never call me! :cry ;)

While it's really entertaining to read your love affair in this post, would you mind mentioning at least one route comment or suggestion in each post so we can kinda keep on topic :teeth

:cool I suppose that the dirtybarf forum is an appropriate place for drifting and wandering off the beaten track but the thread bastardisation over here is just off the scale:laughing

And yeah, I know. I do it much as the rest.

I guess I'm just jealous that you're gonna be out riding and I'm stuck indoors :x

This ride will hopefully flush out a new southern route for the Sunday Thump Rides. :teeth
