To the guy in the t-shirt, jeans and sneakers on that sweet R6 this afternoon slowing down in the left lane just to give your selfish "look at me" self room to wheelie in traffic...you're exactly the type of asshole rider that give us a bad name. You used terrible judgement and put each and every person on that highway at risk while landing sloppy wheelies and nearly riding your squid self right into the breakdown lane at one point.

I'm usually proud to be a rider, but idiots like you made me just another guy shaking his head in a car. You didn't impress anyone but yourself. Consider it fortunate you didn't bin in the midst of dozens of cars going highway speed.

It almost seems to me that the only person that was put "at risk" was the rider Unless you would consider a banged up fender, maybe a flat tire and blood on your car from where you ran over him if he crashed; "risk"

Personally I would categorize the guy I saw just two days ago in an audi station wagon driving thru a school zone while reading a paper propped up on his steering wheel, as significicantly more risk, and more worthy of your disdain then a fellow rider who did something you probably thought about once or twice in your riding career

Granted, but it sounded to me like this was more of a medium to low speed affair... And given the state of 680, If you threw a sportbike up into the air on 680, it would land either on the pavement, or bounce of the roof of a 6500lb SUV

No, it was not an innocuous display of wheelies - it was a ~80mph wheelie in busy traffic. If he bins it, DOZENS (as mentioned in the original post) of cars would have to avoid it *and* the other cars.

Don't rationalize idiot behavior. I appreciate stunts as well as anyone, but not in the middle of a highway with busy traffic. Time and place. Period.

I've asked this before and can't say I ever got the info. Has anyone ever heard of people being killed or mamed by someone doing wheelies? Other than the rider that is:confused Twent years of riding and I've never heard of someone doing a wheely killing or maming someone.

I would say many, but hardly 90%...and the fact that many act foolishly is hardly reason to tolerate it.

That sort of passivity is akin to saying "cagers run us off the road, get used to it".

There would probably be some asshat aiming his balls at someone or doing doughnuts in a golf cart. In my opinion highway wheelies= poser do them on the back roads where no one can see. Time and place for most everything and 680 is not usually the place.

Yes you can post to "save lives and to be looked at more respectful" but the bottom line is that it won't change. Riders will still block roads to run their wheelies, Riders will be jerks to people in cages 'cause they don't know how to drive, riders will get hurt 'cause of roadrage. It'll happen, just use your best judgement like you did, besides posting on the board about it.

If I posted on a car forum how many IDIOTS in cages I've seen in 1 day, I'd have like 10-15 posts per day.
