Mild Ride to Skaggs-Hwy 1. July 10

:ride Me & Kamikaze are doing a mild ride from American Canyon to Skaggs, then HWY 1. Posted this for everyone who might want to ride with us. We're both mellow riders, so if you're fast you can lead. This is also our first time going to Skaggs. I heard too many CHPs here...

Amer.Cyn - Hwy 29/Hwy128 - Calistoga - Geyserville - X-over Hwy 101 to Skaggs - Hwy 1. (from here, we decide again on w/c route to take back to Amer.Cyn). Most likely, if we have time, we'll go down Hwy 1..

We were thinking of going up to Calistoga and onto Geyserville on hwy 128 and cross Hwy 101 to Skaggs.

If you want we can just meet you somewhere along Hwy 29 (Napa), so you won't have to ride down here to Amer. Cyn.

Keep me as a maybe but if I"m there I'll lead... been wanting to test out the new camera, and also wanted to hit skagg's before they install the ripple strips...

you guys are gonna hate the road after skaggs leading out to highway 1. super bumpy, gravel, one lane, potholes, dark, its a motard dualsport rode for sure, but once you get on the 1 south its nice. some good road all the way south on 1 it will suck if its cloudy and misty.. thats what happend to me on friday...

count me in as a maybe... wanna try my new suit out.. and i might go to infineon to see races and get my suspension tuned

I know that after the bridge the road get's worse... but I've done it a few times and as long as your not pushing the edge it's not too bad... mellow is the name of the game after the bridge through injun territory

Some stuff we have to attend to, can't leave early. Shoot, if what ricroc was saying about the road is true, then we wouldn't want that.:thumbdown

2/3 of the route is perfect for motorcycles. the remaining 1/3 of skagg's is similar to oakville grade/trinity road you did the other day... not too bad, just don't expect to drag your knee.

so that means I'm going to get exhausted again & i was thinking of a relax ride. No I'm not dragging my knee or boots, because i don't even know how to...You guys are making me paranoid, hahahaaha

Haha, no, you'll be fine, right at the bottom is a great metal bridge for a break, and then it's nothing but coast all the way down.

You'll be smiling to hard and in your "element" that it won't be stressful.

Not trying to make you paranoid, encouraging you to go!!!! Ride within your limits as you always do and there's nothing to worry about... Just keep it under 90

'hey, didn't i just ride on that Oakville Road, the crazy side or Sonoma side? Ok, WE (Me & Joanne) rode on that crazy side of Oakville Rd. last Monday...it was a real blast to ride, I had fun. First time I've ever scratch my boots on the road (left hand turn):laughing

Rode it today. Not a single cop. There was a bunch of stuff in the road after the bridge from Caltrans or whoever doing some clean up work. Not bad though... plenty of baggers and r1200rt s going through. Stop for a snack at that little market in Stevens Point. They had a barbecue going out front today...
