Mike Taplin, a Jefferson County sheriff's spokesman, said Sol Pais, 18, traveled to Colorado on Monday night and made threats to schools in the Denver area. He said that the threats were potentially credible and that Pais was "armed and considered extremely dangerous.""

Breaks the stereotypical role.

Columbine happened before this woman was born.

Yeah, texted my friend who lives in Littleton earlier. He doesn't have any kids in school fortunately but still warned him. Cousin lives out there too maybe 15 min from there.

2 things of note right off the bat:

1. How was she able to purchase a gun in Colorado from a dealer after getting off a plane from Florida? Does she have a Colorado ID from growing up there and then moving to Florida or something?

2. Pump shotgun. Something tells me this is not going to go well for her and it's a race to see who shoots her first - an armed citizen or the cops. Colorado is pretty done with playing around with active shooter threats apparently it sounds like.

Criminals like anonymity, why help her?

Not using her name is not a good idea, she is still on the loose and there are people right on Barf who have family living in the area. She could be in the Bay Area for all anyone knows, she managed to get to Colorado.

Identifying people like this helps find them and protect others but doesn't glorify her in any way. Forget her name after she is caught.

Because she's not a random fucking criminal that prefers anonymity. She wants to kill a bunch of people and be famous for it.

No one is going to recognize her by name unless they already know her. Call her Mary Saint Joseph or Billy Bob Banjo and she'll still look the same.

So massive, 20 school districts. I work in the public schools, currently at a high school and that is some scary shit. I just read the article with 2 co workers. Insane.

She probably has a fake ID to buy the shotgun. I don't know the laws in Denver to be able to purchase firearms.

Do schools in CO look like war zones? I have to imagine plenty of parents or police are willing to camp out in front of their kids school to offer whatever kind of protection they can imagine. This is terrorism by the way. Home grown white girl terrorism.

Extreme sure. But they are going with the better safe then sorry approach. And things tend to cascade. Once one school in our town closes then it’s another then 2 more then they just do a city wide shut down. it spread from Denver and hitting our cities. We are so spread out here that she could be hiding anywhere and in any city near Denver and we are close enough.
