I remember when Marc was a rookie and asked about his his brother " I am the slower one" he said.
I look forward to seeing if Alec can come good on the same bike his brother has mastered where others have failed.

AM will be a mid-packer, at best. Maybe a hand full of podiums, but I don't see anything better than that. He doesn't have MM's raw talent. If he proves me wrong, I'm okay with that.

If that’s true, then it will be a success in my book. There are lots of people who don’t think he even deserves a seat in the premier class.

That could be said for every other rider on the grid...

basically :p

With all the hype of him joining the GP grid, maybe I am giving him more credit than he deserves. I don't see him doing much better than Crutchlow, if anything. In other words, what dsapsis had replied.

Some folks think he’ll be banging fairings with Karel, Tito, and the KTMs... I think he’s better than that.

If not for his quitterness, Zarco has more motocred than AM. But again, I think this is all about money in order to bribe MM93 to stay next year.

Does he deserve the Repsol seat? Absolutely not. I really haven't seen any spin to the contrary either.

AM is not going to be a premier rider. He's going to be one more minnow in the pond. That's good. Makes it more interesting.

I don’t think anyone is saying he’ll be competing with MM for wins or podiums. I think he’ll be in the P7-P12 range, exactly midpack.

As for MM’s future, I’d like to see him on the Suzuki if he were to leave HRC. I doubt he’d jump ship though.

The only way he will be midpack is if he learns from the coaching MM will provide. Otherwise he'll be barbanging with KTM backmarkers and Tito.

Remember when Rossi did? He did it because Honda is a rigorous business entity with lots of rules, and Yamaha offered him better development, more input, and more freedom.

I can see MM leaving if he feels Honda is not treating him with the immense dignity and courtesy that he thinks he so deserves.

....AAAAAAND the fact everyone was saying the Honda was the best bike on the grid and he wanted to prove himself on a different machine.

I see this as a PR stunt on Honda/Repsol's part. Strategically making the team quite literally a family will, in the end, backfire.

This is the perfect time for the other manufacturers to recruit the riders Honda overlooked in the Puig/Repsol PR parade. Get that Yamaha on a V4 platform and get Rossi retired. It's a new era.

Honda screwed up by falling for Puig's pitch. It will bite them in the arse mark my words. Because MM won't leave Puig and his little brother .....it will be a family affair from here on out. Honda has it on lock....good bad or indifferent. Never mix family with business.

It will only take one season of bad luck from MMarquez before Honda starts acting like they made a terrible mistake. All of their proverbial eggs are in one basket right now and the second that it looks like Marc is losing any form, they will go into panic mode and Alex will lose his seat to a hungrier, more talented rider.

Im sure Honda regret losing Rossi in the peak of his career. They had egg on their face for years after he left for sure, but they seem to be focused on appeasing their prize pig rather than look to the future right now. HRC is a corporation first and foremost. The moment the continual growth stops, they will go into panic mode and self destruct. I dont know if they made the right decision giving AMarquez the seat, but it does put immense pressure on Marc to keep on winning.
