Low and Slow in the French and Italian Alps

Adverse Selection
In this strange time, I have been watching a lot of motorcycle videos. I just found a YouTube channel out of Nice, France that beautifully captures the wonder of riding that part of the world. It's made even more fun because the first three EuroBARF rallies included some of these same roads! In fact, in one of his videos they stopped for lunch in the same restaurant where we had lunch on day one of the first EuroBARF!

The riding is relaxed, the scenery is spectacular, and the goat trails are divine. Check it out.

Nice video, Still hard to believe there are so many small roads that go places in Europe. And that riding them you will find an inn with a great restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Good memories.

Bill, when I hear people say that there's no point in going to the Alps because the riding is so good here, that's one of the things they're missing. The density of and access to great roads is unlike anything I have experienced here, and the prevalence of neat little inns with great food is icing on the cake.

Check out his channel. I find his videos very relaxing.

Learn a few words and Google Translate and you are good to go. I would wait until 2021. But not too early to plan. Dennis, you need to do this.

A good friend who did our trip last summer turned 62 today. He said he might want to go next summer, we will see we might be doing another trip next year. :thumbup

I’ve been to Switzerland a few times but never on a bike... :cry

When I was there in 2002 I was in Zug. I went into a small Honda dealer, nothing special, to check out the bikes. In the back, certainly not prominently displayed, was Mike Baldwin’s Honda 500 racer... it still had AMA tech inspections stickers on it from Laguna and Sears Point...

The woman working there couldn’t answer any questions as to how or why it was there....

Fly into a major city, Zurich, Amsterdam, Paris, or London. Rent a bike and she can do her thing for the week. Tell her the trains go everywhere in Europe. Meet up a week later for a good meal and flight home. Win Win :thumbup

Bill... she ain't going no matter what.

She hates flying and barely made it to Hawaii and back.

She now has motion sickness well beyond what she did before... after her car crash deal.

There is no chance she is going anywhere. Just the way it is. :(

C'est magnifique! E magnifico! What a beautiful part of the world. Too much for just one country's borders.

My wife and I dreamed of a trip to Europe this year. Me moto while she hiked, then we meet up for another week of sightseeing.

But 'Rona came around. Maybe next year?

Thanks for sharing, Kurt! :ride
