Labor Law Lawyer Reccomendations?

Looking to talk to a labor law lawyer and understand my options relating to unpaid wages. Anyone know of a good one? Not looking for a blood thirsty parasite, but someone pragmatic, fair and honest to discuss my options with.

I work in SF and live in Alameda, someone that serves this area would be preferred.

I went to the CA State labor board.
Free and I was taken care of well.

Yup, the board can often help you out on straighforward issues. I filed a complaint about unpaid overtime and had a check for it a week later. :thumbup

I tried giving them a call, as I'd like to chat with someone about my situation. However, I was # 37 in the call line and didn't have the time to wait.

I know I can file a complaint online, but would rather have some more info first.

How did y'all get in contact with them?

Labor board first and if they can't help, then you need an employment law attorney.

An employment law attorney will probably tell you to go to the board first as well.

It was 20 years ago. I do recall filing online. Took about 3 months start to finish.
With fees and penalties, my former employer turned $1500 they owed in to a $10,000 tax free payment for me.

Dept of Labor said, in my case, it is better I talk to an attorney who specializes in labor law.

so, back to the OP, any suggestions?
