Crashed bikes:This is even more important if you are buying a bike that is being sold at a cheaper price with damages that the buyer is required to fix. In these cases, doing a frame check that will show any frame/fork/geometry damages is HIGHLY recommended. Do NOT simply rely on the information that the seller is providing, even he/she may not be aware of all the problems. Have the crashed bike checked and know what you are getting into.
    • Clean title, Salvage title A clean title doesn't mean the bike is free of serious issues. A Salvaged title doesn't mean the bike may have any problems. Every case is different. Some bikes are seriously damaged in a crash, but an insurance claim is never made on them, so they still have a clean title. Some bikes have had mostly cosmetic damages in a crash, but the insurance company decided to pay off the bike and salvage the title rather than spending the money to fix it. Know what you are getting into and don't make any assumptions based on what the seller is telling you.
    • Registration: Know about the current registration status of the bike. Check with DMV if you have any questions about any possible back fees and other title/registration questions (out of state title, no title with bill of sales only, etc.) before purchasing the bike.

Mainshaft bearing has been replaced/upgraded to new roller style bearing (for peace of mind, not because it failed).
Valve clearances were checked less than 1000 miles ago.

Bike looks great, runs fantastic, and sounds awesome. Loads of fun on backroads, but perfectly capable on the freeway, too (100MPH+)

Clean title and current registration.

I'm asking $3900 on craigslist, but for a BARFer, let's make it $3500.

Basically, I bought this bike for the Hawthorne Rally last year, dumped a bunch of money into it, and decided I'm really not into street riding like I used to be. So I've only put about 1000 miles on it, total. It's an incredibly fun bike, I just don't ride it. It's like a supermoto that has no problem on the freeway and is actually comfortable on longer trips.

The bike is super clean and, like the ad says, needs absolutely nothing. It's ready to go. Even has a full tank of gas.

I would possibly be interested in trading for a KTM 300 2-stroke (XC-W, XC, EXC). I may be willing to include a little cash if your bike is especially nice.

oh I exaggerate...the subframe came apart. it's actually a recall from KTM, and they will install a reinforcement kit for free at a ktm dealer (scuderia in sf or I think ace in concord)
