Knoxville mudfest 12/2

Anyone wanna take a stroll to Knoxville tomorrow to get real dirty and real moist? I’m in Vacaville and would prefer to get up there early so we have more time for activities?

I’m on an Africa twin FYI.

Might be passing by on my 990 with some other ADV bikes but we’re slabbing it past Knoxville. I’ll toss you a tow strap.. we did a mud fest there a few years back on smaller bikes and the mud caked on so heavy that the wheels wouldn’t turn.. our pics are several pages back in this thread. Check them out..

I'm not sure if that road is open since the fires. Hmm.. It's a good question. What kind of tires are you on? If i recall the real bad mud was on the Reiff road section. The Knoxville roads are pretty rocky (mostly planted and not sticking up) but there are some big mud puddles up there after a lot of rain. I might take my friends up there just to check it out, but I'm putting my DS wheels back on right now, and removing the wheels with the knobbies on them for this ride so I'm not gonna want to get too dirty...

I’ll be on TKC80s. I should be up there around 10am tomorrow. If all else fails on dualsport tires, throw me that tow strap and we’ll get you out ;)

Haha! Thanks, I might need it... We will be passing through a bit later than that if we go that way. It's gonna be cold!

Well, wasn’t nearly as muddy as I anticipated. Did find one trail that the “mudrigs” must be using that was fun and challenging on a 500lb bike. Other than that there were plenty of deep ponds to ride through! Tried to post a picture from my phone but don’t know how to resize on said phone.

It’s also notable how no one is on the road. Cars not motorcycles. I saw more cars on Knoxville road then anywhere else, yet no one rides?!
