Keigwins 4th of July weekend... anyone else tired?

I only rode on the 5th, but I was really tired today. 30 minute sessions and some warm weather left me gassed.

Anyone else impressed by the rider of the red R3? He was pulling me in the corners.

How about the Kawa H2R? I was hoping to see one someday, but I didn't expect to see one so soon. Too bad it wasn't Cory riding it, right?

Here's the R3 chasing me:

And here's a few laps from late in the day:

I did both days. It was brutally tiring but absolutely worth it. I probably drank 4-5 gallons of water over those two days.

It was my first time on the track, so I had a good bit of learning to do and learning a new layout both days in a row was tough. Moved up to A group by the end of Sunday though, so I'm still pleased with my progress.

We were camped out at the exit of T13. I heard the bike on the traction control for half the turn and straightaway.

It was the H2R for sure.

The guy also had a Yamaha 2 stroke something. I saw him tool around the paddock on it, but never heard/saw it on the track.

That t13 stuff was likely BOTH the traction-control/wheelie-control. Those things have been dynoed 325-339hp at various places. Even if you consider it "happy" dyno's it's still 300hp. That would have been a sight to see...:thumbup

pfft Sunday was the cool day, only 96*. The cool breeze felt good after the 104* on Saturday.

Yes, that's what I heard. I'm glad it was "only" 96 on Sunday. It certainly could have been much hotter.

I never saw the H2R doing anything too impressive. I think the guy was breaking it in. He said he was shifting it at 10k and that the super-charger came on at 8. He also said it wasn't easy to ride because of the way it made power. No power, then big power. Basically it sounds like the bike would be fun in a straight line but not so much on the track.

haha you passed me like I was standing still on my black SV650 /w orange wheels. What's a good 5 mile track time? I was only doing about 3:55 which I think is sad even on an SV. Your doing 3:25-3:30's

The really fast guys are under 3:20, but not by much. I think my best lap on Sunday was a 3:23. I've gone a little faster but those two dirty corners were not helping my lap times.

Here's a couple laps I did. This certainly wasn't my best performance of the day (last session, sunday), but I'll take any pointers you have to offer. I know I'm coasting a lot and I plan to get my head/body lower through corners at the next outing.

Nice. Couple of spots on the new track where you could carry a little more speed through the corner and/or turn in a little earlier, and it would push you a little further out on your exit and set you up better for the next corner. But really, you were looking very smooth and quick for being on street tires.
