Guys,

I began riding in 2013 - 2016, when I sold me CBR. I have been out of riding for over 2 years now.

Getting back into it is a bit uneasy, but I'll get it down fast. I bought the 2016 Zx6r, with 3300 miles on Thur evening in Sacramento and rode it back to Hayward the same night. Bike wants to run... but I was just being extra careful, the reflexes will take a bit time to come back. I'll be taking some courses and track days too.

So now, please help me put this thing together so I can actually enjoy it. It is ALL stock. :rolleyes Please give some recommendations -

- It has horrible headlights - need HID or LED.
- Fender Eliminator.
- Exhaust slip on - OEM can is ugly as heck!
- rear sets

I realize there are tons of options online (Amazon, Ebay, etc, etc, etc...). Quality and prices are also from very low to very high. I am looking for some decent parts and not break a bank. Appreciate your help and recommendations.

Cheers!
RG :thumbup

Up to you. I don't have any mechanical issues that need help. Just looking for suggestions on what lights / exhaust people are using.

Also, ZX6r owner should pitch in.

Do.Not."Upgrade".the.Lights...maybe a legal brighter bulb from PIAA or Philips (don't go to high, you will melt the housing or the wiring), but LEDs and HiDs do not work well on bikes...Period...headlights on bikes work better than most people think, but riding at night is always something done only when necessary in my book...

Keep the License plate in a location behind the rear axle and it must be lit...Yoshimura makes great stuff for eliminators and so forth

Never buy knock brand rear sets or levers and avoid the bay/Amazon stuff that is 1/3 of the cost of the real brands...stay with Woodcraft, Sato, etc...a bad part can kill on a bike...so real...

As for slip-on...get something with a DB killer and make sure it is street legal...any bike newer than I think 2014 must comply to emission standards...and we don't want to perpetuate the myth that Loud bikes save lives...they don't...Yoshimura and Leo Vince make quality stuff...avoid the 2Bros and Jardine Garbage...

Your initial investments should be in track days or rider schools and really good gear and a quality helmet...

But FIRST of all...get your suspension adjusted to your weight and riding...call up Catalyst Suspension or Feel the Track.com and get the preload and rebound and compression dialed in...and then leave it alone...

I ride night everyday on my 2013 zx6r though. With a mirrored visor mind you and have no issues with the headlights.
That being said. I have a 2013 basically fully built. I love my vortex rearsets. Also running yoshimura fender eliminator. Can't help with slip on I have a full leo vince.

Yea, the HID / LED thing is just... No. Please no. Especially the HID thing.. the housing isn't designed for it, and the light output is absolute trash. Blinds other people, and doesn't do a damned thing to light the road where you actually require light.

LED bulbs are getting there, but there's still more work to be done in that area. Again, a lot of this comes down to the design of the actual reflector. 2016? Is it REALLY that bad? I find that somewhat hard to believe.

If you're going to ride it at the track, seems like getting the suspension setup for your weight might be something to add to the list. I've had a good experience with Vortex rearsets as well. I've had mine for over 5 years with no fading but I don't park in direct sunlight. I've seen a pair of the Chinese rearsets go from black to gold because of crappy anodizing.
