Just got a new (to me) bike

Hello I joined over a year ago when a co worker suggested barf for group rides. I been reading a lot but never made a post so here's my obligatory intro. I live and mostly ride in the east bay hills. I've been on a few South Bay group rides with friends but I want to meet people up here to ride with. Only a few of my friends have bikes. I just bought a 2011 ninja 250R and am loving it. It's nowhere near as powerful as my k12 but I like riding it in the hills because its so maneuverable. I will definitely be taking it to the track this year. Hope to see some of you out on rides very soon :thumbup

if you're looking to group up come check out my monthly Oakland night ride. we ride through other cities as well and a few of the same people do a weekly tuesday ride/get together. congrats on the 2fiddy, those are my favorite bike

Hi Teresa! Welcome to BARF! That 250 would be great for the track. I suggest you check out www.z2trackdays.com. September 9th is their annual women's VIP day at Thunderhill. This will be my 3rd year attending..2nd year riding. I am in my 2nd track season...still a C rider but having loads of fun. PM me if you want to hook up on an earlier track day or ride out on the street together. I live near Berryessa...always willing to head up there! :thumbup

Thanks for the invite maygoddess. I have plenty of friends who go to sanoma, buttonwillow and thunderhill. I'm not really interested in riding exclusively with women and I've heard some not so good things about the curve unit riding group. I'm more looking for local riders to pack up with on smaller local rides. I'm definitely going to check out that Oakland monthly night ride and weekly hills ride I've been reading about. They look like a lot of fun. Maybe I'll see you at a ride and we can talk more in person?

I bought the 250 mainly for commuting but I do plan to bring her to the track this year. The K12 is a bit of a beast
