Or, fly into heathrow, pick up bike in London from
http://www.raceways.net/index2.php

(saving you a lot of money vs. renting on the isle)
ride up through England taking in some sights,
Get on Ferry to Douglas from Liverpool (after a few pints of your favorite pull drafts)

Hang out for about 3 hours on the boat, likely freezing your ass off when going outside . . .
Get to Douglas and go for a ride.

Look for signs where there is no speed limit and open her up!

Be advised, many racers sneak onto the island to "practice". You may encounter them so hold your line and keep your eyes on your mirrors.

Re Tired Not Dead
Option B > Gather a huge pile of money, win enough regional races stateside that the IoMTT organizers invite you to race. Blow through another huge pile of money to actually get you, your bike and a hired crew to the event. Make a serious effort to not crash out during the first day of practice or you'll not qualify to qualify. Use another huge pile of money to replace the crashed bike and buy more Guinness for your hired crew. Qualify. Go to the drivers meeting only to learn that you didn't qualify for the class you thought you qualified for. Spend another ginormous pile of money and hit at least one of your credit cards limits to buy another other bike so that you'll have some remote chance of being competitive in the class you didn't plan on qualifying for. Race. Scare yourself a bazillion times or two. Smile and start planning on how you're going to get back to Douglas after collecting your binned bike from behind the pub.

renting a UK moto rather than an IoM-based bike means you're likely too late already for booking round-trip passage on the ferry

the choke point for TT planning is nearly always availability of a bike slot

See, and this is exactly what I would LOVE to do... but I started racing too late in life. I don't think I'll ever be fast enough to qualify. It would be the scariest thing I could ever do in my life... but if I had a chance to race the TT?? In a New York minute, Baby.
