Insurance for another bike?

Quick question here. If I buy another bike is there a grace period where my current bike policy (Geico) will cover me for 30 days or whatever? Or do I need to get it on insurance before riding it home?
Thanks

EDIT:used bike

Great question for you insurance agent. I have geico also but so always just add the bike from my phone before riding it home. That way I know for sure i am covered.

My guess is that geico will not cover you onto another bike. AAA maybe

My State Farm agent told me years ago that there's no grace period on my motorcycle insurance. Dunno if that's changed recently, but I always call before riding just to be safe.

My State Farm agent told me I get 30-day automatic coverage on new bike/car purchase.

I suspect that any grace period coverage, if it exists, is for liability only to keep you legal. I doubt there is any automatic protection for your new bike.

Mine said the same, but I'll clarify, only if I buy brand new from dealer. Not just new-to-me. Said police likely won't ticket you that day (assuming you have proper paperwork and it's properly filled out). Probably best to call your agent or not chance it.

Allstate covers me for 30 days but I always phone in the information to my insurance agent the day I buy a bike. On my most recent purchase, I called them before I even left the dealer.
