That sounds like a good idea! Is the Rich Oliver thing set up for newbies?
Any instruction is good. The more you know, the more fun you have :party

I've done enduro schools and MX schools and I always learn something :thumbup

it looks like they do everything from one day beginner dirt skills courses to a four day pro training hardcore school to the slide course and some roadrace courses as well.
there were some couples who went for the slide course and posted up a report here on barf a while back, it sounded like they had a good time.
anyway his next scheduled dirt beginners are 7/11 and 8/29 but if you can get a few peeps he'll open up another date. we've got a conflict on 7/11 with her dog biz partner getting married so it's either 8/29 or something else.
if any of those other waterseekers are still into doing a course maybe we should put em together and let them work out scheduling

hopefully it's off to carnegie 2morrow am for me though

Thanks for the post, now I'm regretting marriage, kids and selling my bike!

As usual you guys got out there and did some great adventuring, I can imagine I'm there with all those images......Maybe change your plate to BODABABE : )

There are some really good shots in there.

Thanks! I am not a photographer, not by any stretch of the imagination. Hell, I can't even operate my point-and-shoot correctly, but these 2 are probably my favorites...

Very cool. I'm always jealous of your posts. Would you tell me what tires are fitted to the Husky please?

Thanks, Nucking Futs :) I seem to have a great time whenever I'm on a motorcycle (go figure...) and I enjoy capturing some of it for the folks back home.

I'm running a 150/70-17 Metzeler Karoo Traveler on the rear, and a
rear 120/90-17 Pirelli MT21 on the front. Not the most ideal dirt set-up, but it works way better than I expected.

Did you end up going to Carnegie? How was it? I left on the 2nd for the Lost Coast. Ran my Pirelli MT60's since there was a lot of funky pavement and river rock to negotiate :teeth

Amazing ride & report, thanks for sharing!

Hey, thanks for wading through the whole thing! I tend to get a little photo-happy sometimes:blush At least I've cut down on all the boring wordy stuff:laughing

cool as hell :cool

Well, thanks! I think it was a pretty cool ride:p Can't wait to get back out there and do a little more exploring. Wouldn't mind taking the 450 out there again...

Thanks, Yana :thumbup Yeah, the Husky gets a little sleepy on occasion and just plops down whenever it feels like it. Luckily it prefers dirt over pavement for its naps :)

Hey, there's a lot to be said for that whole marriage thing:laughing And I'm guessing the kid thing must be rewarding somehow, too, since lots of people do it. Your only mistake was selling the bike :ride Luckily that's the easiest thing to fix. Do you still have that monster dirtbike of yours? We ought to ride sometime :thumbup

Thanks for the report and pictures. Hopefully when I win the lottery this will be the first thing I do!

The pleasure was all mine! Well, the hardest thing is getting the time off. Other than the massive amounts of fuel we went through, we really didn't spend much money at all. This kind of riding is almost free compared to real dirtriding, as it is much easier on the equipment and body :)

Hey, Butch! I take it you enjoyed the report/photos? :teeth

Crazy awesome. :thumbup

You really should put these in Moto Photos, to show what proper motorcycling looks like. :teeth
