I'm getting back on two wheels after a long absence

Hey Folks, It's been a long time and I'm finally getting back on two wheels. I figure that makes me a newbie

My bike has been sitting for over 5 years, so first up is getting it gone through and tuned up if possible.

My cousin is reviving an SV650 as his first bike. We have it with Doug at SCCA to revive it and resolve any issues. My cousin has just completed the CHP course.

I bought Twist, Twist 2, and Total Control: High Performance Street Riding Techniques so we have some study material.

Anyways, I hope to be riding safely and having fun shortly!

Some good reading there. I am a Keith Code desciple when it really comes down to it. He has such an influence on my racing and ultimately riding in general because of it. A bit abstract at times so slowing down and reading it while thinking it is the best way.

I found reading and grasping were different best wishes on your return.

Once you get your bike running, i suggest you take the Intermediate Riding Clinic (IRC) offered at a cmsp siten ear you. The IRC will get your skills up to speed as well!

welcome back, looks like you are doing it right concerning rider training in addition to IRC, i suggest looking at alameda county sheriff office for the best bang for your buck. get the training that the motors do, i have done both the basic and intermediate and highly recommend it
