I don't have a lot of shoes because I am cheap. Anyway, I decided to see if I could make the ones I have look better. But I don't have any shoes polish here because . . . I am cheap.

I found some old liquid floor wax under the sink, and some liquid mink oil out in my pile of old car care chemicals.

I think these shoes came out good!!!

Process was I applied the liquid floor wax with a sponge. Then used heat gun to melt it further into leather. Did this about 7 times on the tall boots. Then finished with mink oil and heat gun again. Then buffed with microfiber.

:laughing

They look good.

TY! The tall ones are Clark's Desert Mali's. I got a good deal on them. They were originally in a Beeswax finish, but it eventually just got all yucky. I want to get another pair, but selection is limited (Clarks quit making these).

The ones floating around are the Desert Mali 2, and they are $240, and are also discontinued, and

. . . $240.

That's a lot of gas money for the W800!!!

Its Dethklok!
My first pair of Doc Marten's I used Armor All on. They didn't last to long. Second pair I polished religiously to the point where cops and service members would ask me my MOS. They lasted 20 years until the soles wore out.

Ya. Armor All uses a type of siloxane that is also used in hair conditioner. Weak stuff!

I normally take better care of my shoes and they do last a long time. I feel bad because I let these ones go for so long!!!
