yes, I needed a hole in the wall, to run a coax cable inside. I went to Home Depot but alas, I could not find any holes for sale. I capitulated to their business model, purchased a drill, and used it on the wall.

Question: Did I get what I wanted ?

First off, hello PG! :wave

Second, before I can answer your question I need to know, do you now have a hole?

Third, your title says you needed a hole and then you ask if you got what you wanted. You never said you wanted a hole.

Depends...How did it work out? And by drill, do you mean Drill bit? Or Drill motor? Or both?

Ya talkin drilling wood, or sheet rock, or both?

I get a better experience from Lowes, myself.

i tend to attach drill bits or hole saws to my drill to make holes. so really, it sounds like u either turned your drill into a hammer and made a hole, or u didnt get your hole.

Adverse Selection
Maybe not on teh BARF, but PG has captured the broader business zeitgeist (no, not the bar). It's whole (snicker) 'as-a-service' thing. People don't want to own drills, they want to have holes appear where they want them. At least that's the story. :dunno

Home Despot doesn't sell holes, but they sell liners for their holes, so yer coax will look all official with a little plate and everything.

The hole is the easy part. The main problem is getting past the studs so you can do what you want with the hole.
