I recently purchased a bad ass mtn bike for the Wife- a Cannondale Carbon Habit. I ride a Scott Spark (which I love). I need a bike rack, so I went to Road and Rack in San Jose. Wow was I shocked at the prices. I originally wanted a roof rack for my Frontier that has a shell. A complete rack was going to be around $1,600!!!!! That's insane. So, i started looking at trailer hitch racks, and I found a used on for $250. Here is the problem- I need a trailer hitch for my truck. Anybody have any suggestions on where I can get one installed for a decent price?

I have a 2004 Nissan Frontier Dessert Runner.

Buy one off of Amazon and install it yourself.
I had a 2004 Nissan Frontier Desert Runner, it took me about 45 minutes to install an aftermarket class 3 hitch. I had uhaul add a brake harness.

Did the same thing with a 2013 Frontier, and it took me half an hour to install a Factory hitch, 15 more minutes to install OEM relays and the pigtail.

I have a curt trailer on my crv. It was super easy to install. 6 bolts and it's done. I've towed my moto on a trailer with it but I normally use it for my bicycle rack. Here's The link to the tow hitch. Just choose the right one for your truck bed size:

And here's the bike rack that I use. It's been super solid and it keeps your bikes safe to where you don't have to pay them any mind. You can just focus on driving:

Having it installed isn't a whole lot more money and it's way less effort.

I don't blame Lefty if he doesn't feel like doing it.

I put one in my CR-V and I had to re-tap a few of the holes that weren't used and were exposed to the elements. This was shortly after I left California so I don't believe it had to do with the salty roads here.

I've bought all my hitches from etrailer.com. They're very affordable and have all the major brands. For a Class III/IV, it's usually 4 bolts to install. The cool thing about etrailer is you can view the install instructions to see what's required for install. A Drawtite hitch for your truck comes up at $172.

Just ordered a Curt trailer hitch for my new Chevy Colorado.
Installed it in about 45 minutes. Piece of cake.
The trailer harness actually took me a little longer since I wanted it done well and weather proof.
I used etrailer for the hitch and harness parts too.

Damn!!! You guys are awesome!! I definitely will be buying from etrailer and installing it myself.

Kelsodeez- I was looking at a used Yakima bike rack yesterday. It was nice because it has multiple built in locks.

You guys are awesome.
