I joined Baja Nomad because I'm going to Baja and another rider started a thread about our trip on there. After I posted up in our thread I go exploring on the site and come upon sub-forum "Off Topic" which has this disclaimer under it:

Of course I go into it anyways and holy fuck :wow what a cesspool of disgusting people. Most vulgarity rolls off my back as I tend to have a dirty sense of humor and a high tolerance for idiots but this site is a whole new, foul level. I was literally cringing as I read some of the threads. I made it through about 4 and then exited when I realized the majority are racist and/or threatening to kill each other and/or anal gifs.

Freedom of speech yada yada, I won't go back.

The point is, BARF is nothing like that and for that I am thankful. NOTHING on BARF remotely compares to what is going on over there. Mods are often criticized but today I say THANK YOU. And thank you for developing a TOS that prevents BARF from being a vile place.

Yeah but the rest of Baja Nomad is a pretty cool place. I've been a member for decades. I've met some of the posters and it's like any other forum. Good folks, bad folks and everyone in between. I've never gone into the OT and didn't know it even existed.

I see a pattern in many online commentators. Gay fantasy combined with the words "Marxist," "Mexican," "Progressive," or "Communist."

This is the first time I've seen it combined with "massive orgasms" and "jihad's penis goo."

Well, at least they warn you.

But yea, BARF seems to attract mostly decent people. In terms of good person to asshole ratio, there's only one person I've seen on all of BARF that I would legitimately describe as an asshole, and they don't post much. (only about 200 posts according to the member chart) Having been on a few forums before on a variety of subjects, it's a nicer site to use.
