I don't know what to say. The idiocy astounds me.

So, I nearly got taken out by a dude on a BMW R1100R yesterday morning on the Bay Bridge, when he decided to just insert himself into my life by joining the split from in front of a truck without looking.

If you read this, please understand, you shouldn't be fucking riding a motorcycle. Especially not in fucking shorts and a T-Shirt - and especially in commute hours on the Bay Bridge.

You could have killed me, or yourself, or both, we could have both ended up under that truck.

You numpty.

Very aggressive riders I’m surprised not more riders are killed

I've seen a lot of disgraceful riding the last two days. Is the heat making the dumb more bold?

Ok so, I live in San Diego now. Last weekend i was in SF visiting my dad. I couldnt believe how low the skill level was on the majority of riders i saw. All these riders seemed shaky when splitting lanes or just taking normal, every day turns. Here in SD, we have many more squids wearing flip flops and shorts, but we ride year round while its dumping rain up there, so there's really no true off-season. It seemed like the collective of motorcycle riders up there are still knocking the winter dust off. I was scared for them

Yep, it's a shit show right now. Be careful. If you see a rider merging in, expect them to jump in front of you.

I think the increase in traffic is leading to more novice riders, but that's just my gut feeling, no data to back it up.

I wish I could say the idiocy astounds me. Each spring I'm like "Get the fuck off the road until you figure out what you are doing".

Then again I am pretty sure I've had other riders look at me and say "JFC, what a dumbass" so there's that.

On one hand, I totally feel you. On the other, being right and dead doesn't mean much. I consider overtaking a bike in lane while I am sharing on the same order of a left turning vehicle. Approach with caution. I never assume that the ride will see me because we have blind spots, a lot of riders fail to do a head check and it's summer, so yeah.

But boy shorts and no gear on the Bay Bridge, really? That is just insane.

Numpty :rofl New word to put on the list :teeth

according to Webster

nump·ty
/ˈnəm(p)tē/

nounINFORMAL•BRITISH
noun: numpty; plural noun: numpties
a stupid or ineffectual person.
"confused numpties who have little idea of what they're talking about"

When merging into the extreme left always be aware that someone could already there.
Look before you jump into that lane, the life you save could be your own.

Just to be clear, he was completely hidden by the truck, and based on his angle I think he cut across several lanes while obscured by the truck before popping out in front of me.

If I see people moving to hit the split I'm watching them because 90% of the time they don't look, and just fly in, but there was no warning with this guy.

I'm adding it to my internal situational awareness radar system under "fuckwits may pop out from in front of a truck at any time".

I am completely in support of your dislike of this person's behavior.

But we always must check our own as well. What was your delta?
