This is what happens when a turkey vulture flies up in front of you. $227 in plastics. Impact killed the bird.

nice. I haven't been up that way in a long time. Did you go up/back on 5 or 1/101?

Very nice. I saw your pic of 36 on reddit. Sucks about the bird strike, I bet it saw your beak as a challenger in its territory!
I am making it a goal to do lots of motocamping when I get up there :thumbup

Friday night rode up 5 and stayed in Willows (~160 miles). Sat morning continued up 5 another ~40 miles to 36, did all of 36 and down to Usal Rd on Hwy 1 including Ave of Giants, riding through the tree, etc... 274 miles Sat. Then 1 ->Skaggs home, 278mi Sun.

Route looked like this:

I try to do one ~700 mile weekend a month, next month's is pretty great too, Mosquito Ridge Rd, Monitor/Ebbetts Pass, lots of back roads in Calaveras County etc.... looks like this:

A new high front mudguard kit is only $130. And all you really need is the beak panel, which is more like $35.

Unless you are referring to more damage that is not pictured.

The painted beak panel is actually the most expensive part of the mudguard kit, it's more than $35.... and yes, there are more pieces cracked than pictured. The silver piece on the left side, the black piece it connects to, etc.

I'm going that way on Thursday - did you camp on the beach - and, did you need to do any reservation or just show up?
