Beware of false prophets.

Caltrans isn't known for making it's deadlines.

I will say this, however; it is great fun being the Very First Rider to glide across the celestial wonder of newly paved curvy roads.

there was a video showing some epic switchbacks - but looks like those aren't part of the road. Either way - pumped this is open - never road that area - stopped short of the closure in the car. Excited to hit it on the bike.

Awesome, now we can have naciemneto fergusson road back. It was the only way in or out that far south and last time I was on it it was a zoo.

Great to hear that the highway is open again - but about three months too late for me. If I didn't live 750 miles away I would be planning a trip down to Cambria and back in the next few days.

Some of you need to go enjoy it for me.

Anyone ridden it yet??

Man the article shows what a huge task it was.
Hope it holds up.

We road HWY 1 last Wed/Thursday.

Great to have it open again. There is still some work going on, but the delay is minimal and a red light is always a chance to shimmy to the front. Road condition were very good all the way down.

Stories of rocks and gravel near the slide were heard from the previous Sunday, but nothing to speak of on our run.

Good to have it back. Might do it again in October. :ride

There was a vid about the road settling/cracking pavement in the big slide area along the outside edge last week.
CalTrans monitoring, they are expecting movement for a few years there.
